Is BTS releasing comeback album in May? Kim Taehyung to drop mixtape soon, ARMY says 'we're getting spoiled'

BTS comeback may take place sooner than ARMY thought, plus 2021 will be the year to get a closer glimpse at the BTS members’ solo music endeavors. According to a new Korean news report, BTS is to release a comeback single in May along with Kim Taehyung releasing his mixtape soon this year.

BTS recently released their Japanese album schedule where the South Korean Grammy-nominated music group announced dropping ‘BTS The Best’ on June 16, 2021. The third Japanese compilation by the Billboard Hot 100 topper K-pop group will feature a total of 23 tracks including ‘Film out’, the music video of which dropped on April 2.

Is BTS releasing a comeback album in May?

Though not officially confirmed by Big Hit Music, BTS is set to reportedly make a comeback in May prior to 'BTS The Best' dropping. A Newsen media report states that Big Hit Music has nodded to the 'comeback in May' rumor stating “We will reveal our artists’ plans after they are finalized.” BTS last talked about the comeback schedule in a February group VLive where the group stated, "I think the important thing for a singer is to sing well, dance well, release good albums, and communicate with you. Also, good songs are coming out well one by one. As soon as possible, I come out with another good song in front of you. I will come back," adding, "please look forward to it."

Kim Taehyung's mixtape 

Not just the BTS comeback, this year BTS will let ARMY experience a lot of solo ventures of BTS members as well. BTS V aka Kim Taehyung has been teasing ARMY about his solo mixtape for a while. In a 'BE-hind Story' interview with Suga, V said that he prepared almost 13 tracks for his mixtape and needs to finalize eight of them. The report states that BTS V may release the mixtape soon. BTS ARMY celebrated the news of a potential comeback in May by sharing how the new comeback will have 'goals' like never before. A BTS ARMY wrote, "BTS MAY COMEBACK LEADING INTO FESTA IN JUNE AND THEN BTS THE BEST ALBUM RELEASE IN JUNE AS WELL WE ARE GETTING FED." Another similar tweet read, "Possible mixtapes... May comeback... japanese album... festa... we're getting Spoiled spoiled in the next three months oh my god!." An ARMY summarized the overwhelming content that is coming writing, “BTS is coming!” “comeback in may” “KTH1 is coming” “BBMAs on may 24” “BRITs awards” “Festa on June” “japanese album on june” “online concert maybe?” “new songs, new mvs” “new concept photos” “new records to break.”

'Cherry Blossom' featuring Peakboy?

BTS ARMY known for their 'FBI' eyes have also theorized that KTH aka Kim Taehyung's new mixtape can have a new song titled 'Cherry Blossom' with his friend and musician Peakboy who collaborated on his V track 'Snow Flower' with him. As a clue, KTH fans shared snaps of Peakboy's last Instagram update that says 'Cherry Blossoms are complete' plus V sharing a tweet of Peakboy's music on the same day with Cherry Blossom emojis. A fan wrote, "Cherry blossom season is coming.. so is kth1 and probably ft peakboy again!"
