Hours before the release of one of the most anticipated singles of the year, BTS' 'Butter', Korean media reports revealed that the performance of 'Butter' will have dance subunits along with group choreography. Since the news of 'Butter' having dance subunits surfaced, BTS ARMY has been having 'ON' era flashbacks, trying to guess what will be the subunit formation this time. 

While 'Butter' stage premiere will commence on May 23 with Billboards Music Awards performance, ARMY has started to predict the subunits from a preview image shared by BBMAs. Along with 'Butter' on BBMAs, BTS will also perform the track on Stephen Colbert's show next. Read on to know more about the subunit dances and 'Butter' performance stages.

Subunit dance to maximize 'cool attraction'

BTS 'Butter' choreography will focus on "maximizing the story of the lyrics", according to Korean media reports. To alleviate the stage performance, the choreography will have a number of special features including the group dance that shows their "perfect teamwork and each subunit dance that shows cool attraction". Another spoiler alert from the report is that the lyrics contain lines such as "I will melt gently like a butter and capture you." 

What are the subunits?

While there is no confirmation on what the BTS 'Butter' subunits look like, ARMY is already in a frenzy and is hoping for various sub-units that are still to debut in BTS (TaeKook is in our prayers too). One fan wrote, "If we’re really getting a yoonjin “subunit dance that shows cool attraction” i guess i’ll go ahead and call my family to say my goodbyes now!" Another ARMY chimed in saying, "what if the subunit dance is base on the teaser photo and clip , namkook , yoonjin and vminhope ??" A fellow Vkook subunit enthusiast posted, "Cant wait for taekook dance subunit!" A very dramatic tweet read, "if we get a hopekook dance subunit i’m gonna get “let it roll” tattooed on my left ass cheek!"

To sum it up, one fan wrote, "Staying away for two hours and coming back to know that butter will have subunit dances, cute confession, the bbma's performance is likely having a motorcycle, jungkook's long hair are gone, jimin's rainbow hair was chalk and taehyung is probably out there in a see through shirt?"
