The star couple welcomed Patrick Lavon Mahomes III, now affectionately known as "Bronze," on November 28. In a recent interview, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback explained the thinking behind his son's nickname. “When we had Sterling, we didn't know if it was a boy or girl, so we thought of a name that could be a boy or girl. And we wanted them to have a connection. I always wanted to do Patrick Mahomes III, ever since I was a kid." he told AP as per Yahoo News. “I always thought it would be ‘Trey,’ you hear that a lot. So when me and (brother) Jackson were trying to think of something unique, he thought of ‘Bronze.’ It fit perfectly with Sterling. They can have that connection moving forward.”
In a separate interview with 'The Drive' on Audacy's 610 Sports Radio (Kansas City), Patrick revealed how his daughter is adjusting to the family’s new addition. "She wants to hold him, and take care of him, and everything like that," the proud dad of two shared. "She wants to play all day, and we have to tell her to be gentle. And we have to tell her to don't throw him like a toy baby," he added with a laugh. "That's a real baby you got there."
