'Breeders’ Episode 9 Preview: Will Paul manage to fill in for Ally after her move to Berlin?
We are almost towards the end of Ally (Daisy Haggard) and Paul Worsley’s (Martin Freeman) story. While their journey of parenting might not be over anytime soon, this particular chapter of their lives is getting over soon. And perhaps, this will give them some sort of clarity for the way ahead. But before they do that, there is miles to go, before they can sleep peacefully, or at least the kids.
That makes us take a peek to the upcoming episode of FX’s latest comedy presentation.
In the previous episode ‘No Honeymoon’ we saw Paul and Ally getting married finally, after all these years, but had no time for celebration or a honeymoon, since she got sent to Berlin by her boss to manage a new project. Paul confidently took on the responsibility of taking care of the kids completely and it seemed fine so far. But is anything ever “fine” for long in this family? Of course not! Ergo, the upcoming episode will see Paul as the most harrowed father while the children continue to be more difficult.
‘No Cure’ Part 1 is the first half of the two-part finale, where we will see how Paul and Ally's marital life gets choppy as they try to manage the long-distance relationship. Through the weekdays, Ally stays in Berlin and then visits her husband and kids in London at the weekends. The preview clip shows her telling her boss, Darren how this new arrangement seems “sociopathic” to her.
Back in London, things with the kids have started to get out of control for Paul. Luke (George Wakeman) falls sick and Paul takes him to the hospital and he tries to comfort Ally over the phone as she gets worried about leaving her sick son miles away. Paul also finds it difficult to make the kids sleep and it takes a toll on him psychologically.
On one hand, Paul’s mother is also complaining about how he cannot manage alone and that despite a father, children also need a mother. On the other hand, despite his best efforts to take care of the kids and managing the household, Paul is failing to keep a grip on everything.
He might be a very responsible father and a caring husband, but he, like anyone else, cannot do it all by himself and keep everything under control. But we are yet to see if his parenting can fill in for Ally’s absence.
Take a look at what to expect from ‘No Cure’:
