'Vanderpump Rules': Fans divided on Beau-Stassi proposal, say it was better than 'The Bachelor' but also fake

Some fans feel Stassi Schroeder 'pressured' Beau Clark into proposing to her and wondered if the duo hadn't rehearsed the whole thing

Bravo's 'Vanderpump Rules' is back with a brand new episode and fans are divided about the Stassi Schroeder-Beau Clark proposal. A lot of planning went into it, sure, but the "will you marry me?" act at a cemetery appeared fake for a section of viewers, while the rest couldn't stop being emotional about it.

The couple has been dating a few years now and much like every relationship, theirs wasn't the one without flaws and fights. But Beau is all about a clean slate. He wants to put all the bitterness and misunderstanding be a thing of the past and start a new future together.

The proposal was dreamy and everything. But it was at a cemetery. The significance of it may be beyond some of us but Stassi has an answer to that - she tells Beau that if she were to die then they would be together forever and he would be with her even in her afterlife, not date and be single for the rest of his life.

Ideally, any straight-thinking man would react to that but Beau had the whole proposal planned and wanted it to be a surprise. He was panicking if the ring had been dropped off at the tree they were going to sit under. But, it was all good and he was able to pop the question. It was an heirloom ring, it's beautiful and it shows how much Beau really cared about what he shares with Stassi. And of course, she said yes.

However, fans thought the proposal was "fake" and "staged." Stassi's reaction did not seem genuine enough.

"Oh sure I totally believe this engagement was not practiced on repeat.... #vanderpumprules," a viewer shared, another one wrote: "Did anyone else think this engagement was kinda staged? Like Stassis reaction just didn’t seem genuine. #VanderpumpRules."

"She literally pressured this guy into an engagement!! Recipe for disaster #vanderpumprules," a fan pointed out. "So even with the Music and shit. FAKE!! Needless to say Stassi is NOT going to pull a LaLa move and make the jump to acting. She doesn’t have the range lol #vanderpumprules #pumprules #stassiengagement," another expressed.

"This is literally the most fake proposal I seen in reality tv history. Stassi planned to this proposal out we can tell #PumpRules #VanderpumpRules," another expressed.

But, there are also fans who thought the proposal was the best thing to happen to the show. "This proposal was way better than any episode of The Bachelor. Well done @iambeau! @stassi #pumprules #vanderpumprules," one of the fans tweeted.
