TJ, a struggling musician, finally gets his big break when renowned musician Trey Stasio (Gabe Baker) offers him the opportunity to play guitar on tour. However, the tour dates clash with Ruby's family tree presentation at school.

Amelia speaks to TJ and convinces him to go for the gig because it is a big opportunity for him. She also talks to Ruby and helps her understand the situation.

On the day of the presentation, Amelia reached out to TJ's family to see if they could attend the presentation.

TJ manages to rearrange his schedule to ensure he can attend the presentation. He brings his family along, much to Ruby's joy, as she promptly includes TJ's family on her family tree chart.

The heartfelt gesture by TJ shows how close he is to Ruby emotionally and how much he values her little moment of happiness. Ruby's sense of emptiness due to the absence of a father figure in her life is now filled by TJ's presence.

In an earlier scene, Amelia discusses with TJ why she chose to have a child through IVF and not want a partner. She tells him that not having her father during her childhood was a trauma she carried through her life and she doesn't want the same for Ruby.

The final gesture by TJ convinces Amelia that he might be the right person for Ruby and it might be time for them to take their relationship ahead.

The film concludes with a heartwarming kiss between them, providing a satisfying conclusion to their adorable story.
