Spoilers for ‘Blue Bloods’ Season 11 Episode 7

Titled ‘The New Normal’, the ‘Blue Bloods’ Season 11 Episode 6 saw the Reagans confront hard choices on the job when Police Commissioner Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) dealt with Captain Keith Butler (played by guest star Jim Klock), who was supposedly losing his grip over his precinct. We saw Gormley (Robert Clohessy) tell Frank that Butler was a “great cop”, and that “someone in his command is covering for the deadbeats”. But Frank had his doubts about that declaration. He repeatedly asked him if Butler had the respect of his subordinate officers. Frank did not see eye to eye with Butler’s method -- delegation of authority.

Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) faced a backlash from Baez (Marisa Ramirez) over a tough call he made in the field. But it was not just Baez who was on his case. Internal Affairs sent in two officers, IAB Lt. Sloan and IAB Detective Marcos (played by guest stars Ann Harada and Armando Acevedo), who gave the hothead cop some trouble. At the same time, Jamie (Will Estes) and Eddie are shown the ropes of field crisis management when a social worker gets assigned to them for a ride-along. And Erin (Bridget Moynahan) weighed the consequences of a dangerous criminal’s release under new bail laws.

What comes next?

Titled ‘In Too Deep’, ‘Blue Bloods’ Season 11 Episode 7 will see more troubles for Danny. After he witnesses a drive-by shooting, he butts heads with the detective assigned to the case. In a promo for the episode, we see Baez try to make Danny feel better. The partners banter and argue but they always have each other’s backs. And in this case, we can see Baez try her best to remind Danny of all the good qualities he has -- the ones she observed when she first worked with him.

Also, a childhood friend of Jamie’s is convinced that she has single-handedly solved a cold case murder, and Frank struggles to trust an ex-detective when he brings forth information about a suspected crime ring. In a promo for the episode, we see Frank tell Erin that taking “your own advice” is overrated. But everyone on the table -- it seems to be one of the famous Reagan family dinners -- seems to think that’s poppycock. The Reagan family dinner scenes are always the best parts of the show.

The episode will feature, aside from the regular cast, Erin Neufer as Alison Gable, Angel Desai as Detective Judy Farrow, Jamie Jackson as Boris Vache, Nico Greetham as Scott Marino, Mike Carlsen as Douglas Mckenzie, John Scherer as Sal Marino, Lorraine Farris as Dawn Ross, Don Scimé as Joel Ross, Mark Borkowski as Desk Sgt. Wolinski, Madeline Grey Defreece as Officer Grey, and Kasey Marr as a nurse, in guest roles.

When will ‘Blue Bloods’ Season 11 Episode 7 air?

‘In Too Deep’, written by Daniel Truly and directed by Jennifer Opresnick, will air on Friday, February 12, 2021, from 10-11 pm ET/PT, on the CBS Television Network. Unfortunately, the following week, February 19, will not see a new episode of ‘Blue Bloods’. Instead, there will be a rebroadcast of the season 11 premiere that originally aired in December 2020.
