In Episode 5 of ‘Blue Bloods’ Season 11 that aired on January 22, the Reagan family saw some internal conflict. The upcoming episode will see more trouble for the Reagan family, especially Danny.

But what does ‘Blue Bloods’ Season 11 Episode 6 hold for fans?

Titled ‘The New Normal’, the episode will see the Reagans confront hard choices on the job when Police Commissioner Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) deals with Captain Keith Butler (played by guest star Jim Klock), who’s losing his grip over his precinct.

In a YouTube promo for the episode, we see Gormley (Robert Clohessy) tell Frank that Butler is a “great cop”, and that “someone in his command is covering for the deadbeats”. But Frank seems doubtful about that declaration. He repeatedly asks him if Butler had the respect of his subordinate officers. Frank does not see eye to eye with Butler’s method — delegation of authority. And he decides to do something about it. But what will he do? He is fair but ultimately very tough. Things don’t look too good for Butler.

Danny will face backlash from Baez over a tough call he made in the field. But it’s not just Baez who is on his case. Internal Affairs will send in two officers, IAB Lt. Sloan and IAB Detective Marcos (played by guest stars Ann Harada and Armando Acevedo), who will make life difficult for the hotheaded cop.

At the same time, Jamie (Will Estes) and Eddie will be shown the ropes of field crisis management when a social worker will get assigned to them for a ride-along. In another promo clip, Jamie tells Eddie and her partner about “Violence Interrupters” — civilians mediating conflicts on the streets. While they seem generally pleased that City Council is finally may be doing something good by pairing them with people who are professionally trained to de-escalate situations, Eddie snarkily asks Jamie if other cops had pushed back.

Erin (Bridget Moynahan) will weigh in the consequences of a dangerous criminal’s release under new bail laws. Guest-starring in this episode as well will be Magdalena Borlano as Christina Rizzo and Tricia Paoluccio as Judge Enid Kramer, among others.

When will ‘Blue Bloods’ Season 11 Episode 6 air?

‘The New Normal’, written by Ian Biederman and directed by David Barrett, will air on Friday, February 5, 2021, from 10-11 pm ET/PT, on the CBS Television Network.
