'Blindspot' Season 5 Episode 5 Preview: Will Tasha and Patterson be able to save Weller and Jane?
'Blindspot' is keeping us on the edge of our seats with each episode. Last we saw, Kurt Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) had been abducted and Jane (Jaime Alexander) was barely able to stand after being shot in the stomach. In order to put a stop to Madeline Burke (Mary Elizabeth) from sending out toxic chemicals to 10 capital cities, Jane, Weller and Tasha (Audrey Esparza) had gone on a mission take out the terrorists. Everything seemed successful at first as Tasha overcame her fear and knocked them all out. The three decided to split up and head to the bunker when Jane got intercepted by Madeline's minions and was shot. She saw an unconscious Weller being taken away in a car.
In the promos for the next episode, Weller is being tortured for information about his team's whereabouts, while the others wonder how to save both him and Jane. The synopsis for the episode, titled 'Head Games' reads, "When Jane is shot and Weller is kidnapped, the team must fight to save both of their lives while maintaining the secrecy of their hidden base; meanwhile, Weller is haunted by some dark ghosts from Blindspot's past."
Madeline's diabolic behavior knows no bounds. After bombing the team's hideout and killing Reade (Rob Brown), she killed Brianna point-blank in front of Matthew Weitz, in order to demonstrate what she will do to anyone who betrays her. And now, she has some nefarious plans with a fatal chemical, that she plans to release in capital cities. Will the team ever manage to get the better of her? That remains to be seen.
Meanwhile, Tasha has been having a tough time, ever since Reade's death, including blanking out in crucial operations. In the previous episode, it was revealed that she's pregnant, as she and Reade had a quick hookup in Iceland, just before the drone strike that cost Reade his life. Just before she battles the terrorists, she sees his ghost, and he gives her that confidence and boost to get back in the game.
And now, it's up to Tasha, Patterson (Ashley Johnson) and Rich Dotcom to save Jane as well as Weller.
