Blinks can rejoice once more because they're getting yet another one of their wishes: actor Jisoo. The idol and Blackpink member will star as the female lead of the upcoming drama tentatively titled 'Sul Kang Hwa: Snowdrop' if everything falls into place. Scriptwriter Yoo Hyun Mi and director Jo Hyun Tak, who worked together on the JTBC hit drama 'SKY Castle', are teaming up once more for the upcoming Jisoo starrer. A representative of YG Entertainment also confirmed the news, "It's true that Jisoo has been cast in the new drama 'Snowdrop'."

'SKY Castle' was noted as much for its high-quality writing and production as it was for its acting. It's therefore understandable why fans would be floored by the news, since Jisoo is getting to demonstrate her skills via a vehicle like 'Snowdrop' means she's sure to get recognition for her skills. The singer has previously had cameos playing herself in the KBS 2TV drama 'The Producers' in 2015 and the SBS/Netflix mini-series 'Part-Time Idols' in 2017. She later starred as Sae Narae in the big-budget television series 'Arthdal Chronicles', her character being Song Joongki's character Saya's first love. Despite not being a lead role and being surrounded by industry giants, Jisoo received attention and praise for her performance, proving she had what it took to be an actress in her own drama. Fans will now get to see her in all her acting glory.

"JISOO GET THAT OSCAR," "THE WAY I WON AS A JISOO BIASED TODAY," "Actress JISOO is coming!!! OMGGGGG!!"

While details of the drama are yet to be confirmed as its team are still working out broadcast plans with JTBC, it is expected that 'Snowdrop' will include sixteen episodes. Having Jisoo be a lead, not just a cameo, is already a treat for fans, with one stating, "FEMALE LEAD? IS IT REAL? NOT CAMEO OMYF****** GOD I NEED AIR," but the news that the idol will be a lead for a whole sixteen episodes is more than any Blink can handle. One fan stated, "AAAAAAAAAAAA WE'LL SEE JISOO IN 16EPISODE YALL IM SO EXCITED!!!!"

Blackpink is on a roll this year. They've begun their comeback schedule with the release of their first pre-release single, 'How You Like That?', which already smashed every record imaginable and they're set to release a second single featuring Selena Gomez on August 28. Blinks have received a steady stream of quality content, and it appears they're going to keep getting more. "Wtf Sooyas, we got a comeback poster (ish), Marie Claire shots + interview, and LEAD actress Jisoo in less than an hour..... is this real," asked one fan in disbelief, while another said, "AFTER ALL THE HASHTAGS AND EMAILS WE ARE FINALLY GETTING JISOO IN A DRAMA THIS IS DREAM COMING TRUE SHES PROBABLY SO HAPPY OMG I CAN’T BELIEVE IT."

And the tears of emotional fans continued to flow. "I’m going to cryyy this is deserved for her and much more," tweeted one fan, while another fan shared, "I'M CRYING WHAT THE F*** IM SO HAPPY MY BABY IS GETTING JOBS SHE'S GETTING HER COIN. KIM JISOO I AM SO PROUD I LITERALLY STARTED CRYING." And one fan declared, "Jisoo isn't just a person, shes a cultural reset, shes the oxygen you breathe, shes a lifestyle, a reason to breathe, an escape from this cruel world filled with thieves, shes an art, a hug from a loved one, everything you’ve ever wanted."
