Episode 4 of the second season of Showtime’s Wall Street black comedy ‘Black Monday’ saw Mo (Don Cheadle) pull off the sneakiest bit of revenge against Dawn (Regina Hall) and Blair (Andrew Rannells). In episode 3, Mo slyly achieved that against Keith (Paul Scheer) by locking him up in the vault of the bank where a massacre took place.

The massacre was the result of some unsolvable differences between the Colombian cartel and Keith. Only Mo and Keith survived and the latter got the short end of the deal. One wondered throughout episode 4 why Mo would decide to leave for an idyllic life in a beach paradise without doing anything to Blair and Dawn, who backstabbed him in season 1; and especially Dawn who showed no remorse for her action, and had the gumption to try and buy him out of his shares in the Jammer group.

But the very end of episode 4 made it clear that Mo, in fact, did get his vengeance. Blair and Dawn had been trying to lobby Congressmen to pass a banking reform through the House, somewhat similar to the repealing of the Glass-Steagall Act. They had acquired a bank (with the Lehmans) and pinned all their hopes and dreams to this new possible regulation.

The regulation passed. They cheered. But only moments later they learned of the massacre in Miami -- the same one where Mo locked up Keith. It was in a branch of the bank the Jammer group had acquired. Obviously, the bank’s reputation went for a toss. And they were back to square one.

So, what’s coming up in episode 5? The episode is titled ‘Violent Crooks and Cooks of Books’. The violent crooks may just be anybody, but one can guess that the “cooks of books” may be Dawn and Blair. They desperately need a new plan to save the company, and what better way to do that than cook up new numbers to make their books look better, right?

Per Showtime’s synopsis of the episode, Blair and Dawn will take to the skies to pursue a new investor. Mo and Keith will struggle with relocation.

That Dawn and Blair would pursue a new investor is obvious. They have no other choice. But the Mo and Keith thing baffles. Last we saw Mo, he was happily on board a plane, headed towards a sunny, beachy country. And the last we saw Keith, he was locked inside a vault. So, their relocation together does raise some questions as to how that may have happened.

The promo for the episode clears that out to a certain degree. Mo is back on Wall Street. As Blair and Dawn and one of the Lehman brothers (Ken Marino) sit in a boardroom and discuss things, a long-haired Mo in a lime-green suit enters with a bang and says, “Yo yo, what did I Miss?”

A thoroughly angry Lehman tells Dawn and Blair to return his 20 million dollars. Of course, he no longer wants to do business with them now that Mo’s back. So, Dawn and Blair have another idea: to approach Pastor Newell (Michael Hitchcock), a very publicly homophobic Christian televangelist. There is one problem of course.

Newell is the father-in-law of Congressman Roger Harris (Tuc Watkins), the man Blair has been having an affair with. But when money’s tight, some risks are called for. The pastor and Blair have a rather uncomfortable talk about Harris. Hopefully, he won’t find out his Republican son-in-law, and his potential business associate are both gay.

‘Black Monday’ is always a wild ride. And there’s no reason to believe episode 5 will be anything but that.

‘Black Monday’ airs Sundays on Showtime at 10 pm ET.
