Your date with Jules and Rue is almost here. Euphoria's highly-anticipated second "Special Episode" will receive an early premiere on HBO Max beginning Friday, January 22 at 9:00 p.m. ET/6:00 p.m. PT in advance of its HBO premiere on Sunday, January 24, at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT.

While the first special put Zendaya in the spotlight, the second one will follow the character of Jules played by Hunter Schafer as she "reflects on the year" gone by over the Christmas holiday. The new special is titled 'Fuck Anyone Who’s Not a Sea Blob', alternatively titled 'Part 2: Jules'.

The special will have her remembering her happier moments with Rue who is the "first girl" who "actually saw" her. "She actually saw me... the 'me' that is under a million layers of 'not me'", she says in the teaser. This is great considering that Rue too wants to reunite with her.

But Jules will also be dealing with trauma that is specific to her trans experience -- the episode promises to be a deep dive into what shaped Jules as a child as she grappled with her identity, her relationship with her accepting father, and her abusive mother.

It will also go into how she has her own demons. She is in some ways as broken and fragile as Rue though she doesn't vocalize or express it as clearly as Rue does, relying instead on her 'Sailor moon anime' aesthetic and party girl vibes, both as a defence and an escape.

The teaser does not reveal if she will be dealing with the aftermath of her sexual encounter with Nate's father, Cal or of Nate blackmailing her with her nudes. But the traumatic memories that come up as she thinks about past events might make her pull away from Rue. Some of the shots in the teaser certainly suggests this.

In addition to the episode, that has been co-written by Sam Levinson and Hunter Schafer, there is another collab that 'Euphoria' is gifting us in the New Year. A new song collaboration between Billie Eilish and Rosalía, 'Lo Vas A Olvidar', can be heard in the trailer and will be featured in the episode. The song will premiere with a music video this Thursday, January 21.

The Billie Eilish and Rosalia musical collab is just as highly anticipated as Jules' back story in the second special. Rosalia, the Spanish singer, had tweeted back in March 2019 about the collab. She had tweeted: "can’t wait to finish our song”, along with a photo of her with Eilish.

On January 1, 2021, Eilish brought an end to the wait that had begun with Rosalia's tweet. Eilish captioned her post on Instagram announcing the premiere with: "You guys have been waiting for this". The post included a sneak peek of the music video for the song. 'La Vas a Olvidar' is part of the official soundtrack for Euphoria’s 'Part Two: Jules’ special that will be released on music streaming platforms on January 21 before the episode drops.

'Euphoria' second special 'Fuck Anyone Who’s Not a Sea Blob', alternatively titled 'Part 2: Jules' will receive an early premiere on HBO Max beginning Friday, January 22, at 9:00 p.m. ET/6:00 p.m. PT in advance of its HBO premiere on Sunday, January 24, at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT.
