One of the most awaited award ceremonies of the year, the 2021 Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs), was finally held at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, May 23. Apart from stellar performances from top artists such as Alicia Keys, Bad Bunny, BTS, DJ Khaled featuring H.E.R., Migos, and Doja Cat and SZA, we also saw some of the top global musicians winning big.

The Weeknd, who earned a record 16 nominations at BBMAs, managed to take home 10 awards including the biggest win of the night for Top Artist. He also finally got rid of his red suit and hinted towards new music. Taylor Swift won the Top Female Artist while hip-hop heavyweight Drake was announced as the winner of Artist of the Decade. K-pop legends BTS also dominated the awards, winning Top Selling Artist, Top Duo/Group, Top Song Sales Artist, Top Social Artist and Top Selling Song for their hit ‘Dynamite’. Bad Bunny won the coveted Top Latin Artist while Pop Smoke, who received nods in 10 categories, posthumously won Top Billboard 200 Album for ‘Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon.’
