'Big Mouth' season 3: Fans predict a dark season for Andrew and a possible crack in his friendship with Nick

'Big Mouth' is set to return to Netflix for its third season on October 4, 2019. And this year, 'Big Mouth' is returning with a heavy dose of NSFW. But along with that, the series will also be tackling some very important issues around puberty and growing up.

Netflix's official synopsis for season 3 reads: "In season 3, 'Big Mouth' focuses on what's like to be going through puberty now. The show continues exploring human sexuality and everything around it, tackling issues such as cellphone addiction, female anger, the vast spectrum of sexuality, Adderall abuse, dick pics, toxic masculinity, and of course 'how to have an  orgasm'."

Fans have their share of theories about what is to come in the upcoming season. Some predict that the season will prove to be detrimental to Andrew (John Mulaney). "I think Andrew is going to get really f***ing dark this season. Someone on this sub mentioned that perhaps they would make Andrew an incel... which would be interesting. Perhaps he will get a new hormone monster as well?" a fan theorized

Last season, Nick got Connie (Maya Rudolph) as his hormone monster, and this has fans theorizing that some feminity will be introduced in the character voiced by Kroll. "[I think] Nick's sexuality will be explored more due to Connie as Nick's new hormone monster/ress." The trailer shows Andrew talking to Nick about being attracted to his cousin. "I predict the exploration of kink. It looks like Andrew is struggling with feeling attracted to his cousin. Missy is wearing heels and puts her foot close to Nick’s crotch," predicts a fan.

At the same time, fans are hoping Andrew works up towards redemption. His character arc in 'My Furry Valentine' had proved to be a disappointment for many fans. But since Andrew is a likeable character, many are hoping the season will feature a redemptive moment for him. "I think while 'Big Mouth' could and should handle the issues of incels I don't want it via Andrew. He was quick, for instance, to point out that the head pushing thing was wrong. His dad is far from the best role model and the 'My Furry Valentine' stuff was bleak, but instead of that shaping him I want it to be something he rises against," said a fan.

Some fans expect that season 3 will put some friendships to the test too. "Nick expands his perspective and as a result ends up with more opportunities with girls. This will drive a wedge between him and Andrew as they continue to diverge as people in their development," said a fan. "Might have a coming back together moment but I think this arc will be stronger if they actually stay friends or broken up for the next season considering they've been greenlit till season 5."

Season 3 will also see a crossover with the Fabulous Five of 'Queer Eye'.

'Big Mouth' returns to Netflix for season 3 on October 4, 2019.
