BET Awards 2020: Chloe X Halle give an earth-shattering performance, fans say duo ‘deserves better recognition’

While some viewers were mesmerized by their powerful vocals, others couldn't stop raving about their dancing skills

The 20th annual BET Awards, besides honoring notable black musicians, is also providing a platform to budding artists to put their talent on the display. Among many mind-blowing performances from tonight, the duet by sisters Chloe x Halle seems to have impressed the viewers the most. 

On watching the R&B duo perform ‘Forgive Me’ and ‘Do It’, fans took to Twitter to shower them with loads of love and support. While some viewers were mesmerized by their powerful vocals, others couldn't stop raving about their dancing skills.

One fan wrote, “The #BETAwards2020...ain’t even over and I’m rewatching the @chloexhalle performance. Last time I felt this way about an artist was @Beyonce. Go figure “Chloe x Halle did that though #BETAwards2020” added another.

Meanwhile, one fan praised the sister duo for their amazing moves and a dance-off with each other. “THEY HAD A DANCE BATTLE WITH THEMSELVES. I'm sorry but y'all faves can go home, I hate to compare but they just not doing it like @chloexhalle #BETAwards2020” read one tweet. “Chloe x Halle are their own competition at this point. Nobody is seeing these girl” wrote another adding to the previous tweet.

One Twitter user wrote, “@chloexhalle I thought I would have a nice quiet Sunday evening sitting in watching the #BETAwards2020. 'til all of a sudden the 2 of you turned into the 4 of you,  jumped me, and snatched my edges. GIVE ME BACK MY EDGES! I DON'T CARE IF THERE'S 4 OF YOU NOW!”

Some of Chloe x Halle’s fans have noted that singer “deserve better recognition” for the amount of talent they hold. “Just need y'all to understand how important it is for us to have BLACK WOMEN who deliver earth-shattering performances that exude class, seduction and the beauty of authentic body's @chloexhalle y'all did that...#BETAwards2020“ read one tweet. 

“WOW NO WORDS!! Chloe x Halle slayed that performance I can’t even describe how beyond perfect that was #BETAwards2020 #forgiveme #DoIt #UngodlyHour,” wrote another praising them. 

Chloe x Halle gained popularity through their performance in the sitcom series ‘Grown-ish’. They released their debut album, ‘The Kids Are Alright', in 2018, which earned them two Grammy nominations. They released their second album ‘Ungodly Hour’ in 2020.
