Did Barrie Drewitt divorce his husband Tony? Here's the truth behind the tragic split of 'Below Deck' couple
Barrie Drewitt-Barlow and husband Tony made the front page when they decided to get pregnant via surrogacy. After initial hiccups, the couple welcomed their first set of twins - Saffron and Aspen, in 1999. It was a milestone moment that earned them their moniker - 'UK's first gay dads'. The couple went on to have a son, Orlando, 17, and 11-year-old twins Dallas and Jasper. On the surface, the Drewitt-Barlow household appears to be happy but there's more to that story.
In 2019, the couple called time on their 32-year-long relationship after they "slid into a platonic relationship" following Tony's cancer diagnosis. A legal split is on the cards but Saffron revealed that Tony isn't too keen on it and has valid reasons for it.

"She added that Tony 'doesn't have long left' - and wants to die still married to Barrie, his 'first love'. However, Barrie wants a divorce so that he can marry Scott," Daily Mail reported. In addition to this, Barrie made a statement about how he and Tony have had lengthy conversations about moving on from what they once shared.
Turns out, it was Tony who encouraged Barrie to consider his feelings for Scott Hutchinson, Saffron's ex-boyfriend. "He said: ‘If I ended up going, Scott would be the person I’d like to see you with.’ My initial reaction was: ‘Tony, he’s half my age.’ But he kept mentioning it," Barrie told The Sun.
During Tony's treatment, it was Scott, a bisexual, who lend him a shoulder to cry on and that is how it all began. Barrie and Scott are now engaged and share a four-month-old baby. Their romantic proposal was a big part of the 'Below Deck Sailing Yacht' episodes.
While for most of the Parsifal III crew and fans of the Bravo-backed show, it was weird that anyone would date one's daughter's ex, the Drewitt-Barlow family was oddly okay with it. The family nine live out of their $6 million home in Florida. When they broke the news of Barrie and Scott, the kids, especially, Saffron, were not uncomfortable.
"We all sat round the table at home and I told her. Of course, she was annoyed at first but Tony said: ‘This is a good idea. You can see how Scott is with Daddy, he likes him,'" he told the outlet and added: "There were no rows. We just talked as adults. Saffron sees how happy we are and she has accepted it."
