'Below Deck Mediterranean': Will Captain Sandy Yawn fire Tom Checketts for serving 'pink' chicken?
Captain Sandy Yawn is particular about the food being served to her guests on the yacht, so much so that she is willing to fire her chef over it. There have been multiple instances, during which she was in the kitchen asking questions and inquiring about the menu to former chef Hindrigo 'Kiko' Lorran. He continued to answer them and putting together delicious meals until one day when he goofed up the themed dinner.
The charter guests had demanded a Las Vegas-themed menu. Hannah Ferrier and Kiko put fried chicken, french fries, and such on the list. When the items finally arrived at the dinner table, the guests were unhappy. For them, it seemed like a kid's birthday party. Sandy was visibly upset about the review and didn't waste time in taking it up with Kiko at the galley.
Despite his explanations and good intentions, Sandy felt compelled to fire Kiko because serving subpar food to the guests is not the best idea in the yachting industry. Cut to a week later, Tom Checketts, Malia White's boyfriend, has replaced Kiko and is crafting ambitious food for the guests onboard. Usually, the chefs are in a rush to get the meals done and ready-to-serve because the crew's tip amount, or at least a part of it, depends on quality, quantity, and the timeliness of food and drinks. It could be that Tom was in a rush when he plated the chicken, which two of the guests thought was pink like a "motherf**ker."
Christine 'Drake' Bugsy, who was serving them food, was visibly worried about the guests expressing disappointment over the "pink" chicken. When a chicken is not cooked all the way through, the meat appears pink. The question now is: Will Sandy fire Tom over raw chicken? Or will she be willing to give him a second chance given how his mind has been occupied with his uncle's health and how he's not keeping well? Only time will tell.
