When VH1 announced 'Basketball Wives' would return with Season 9, the first reaction from the fans online was a plea of sorts to the showrunners to leave out wives who are no longer married to NBA stars. If they'd consider it, the list would be long, but the one lady who will not feature on that controversial roster would be Jackie Christie.
She and Douglas 'Doug' Christie have been married since 1996 and have two children, Douglas Jr and Chantel. The couple got married three days after he popped the big question. Naturally, what followed a was series of mishaps, which Jackie recalled fondly in a 2011 interview with Huffington Post. "We lost the ring. Doug's tux ripped because it was too tight on the inside — it was rented because he was in Toronto — so he had to put on a nice black suit at the last minute," she had said.

The Christie's had everything going for them. They were happy, in love, and have found ways to keep the romance alive. They believe in communication and renew their vows on their wedding anniversary every year. Did you know they have a 15-minute rule? Jackie and her estranged daughter
The lady is a mother to three kids. Her firstborn is Ta'kari Lee. Although she shares a warm relationship with Doug, Ta'kari's stepfather, the same cannot be said about her feelings for Jackie. The mother-daughter duo is estranged and that was partially confirmed when Ta'Kari didn't reach out to Jackie after her son's accident. He had suffered burn injuries at his daycare. Instead, she created a GoFundMe page to fund his treatment.
"She puts more effort into a relationship for TV,” Ta'Kari told Essence and added: “I wish I could get her approval, but at some point, you accept you’re not gonna get it. And when my son got hurt, that’s what happened. It became accepted."
