'The Bachelorette' stars Ashley Hebert and JP Rosenbaum announced on Wednesday, October 14, that they have decided to call it quits after eight years of marriage. The couple has two children together, a son named  Fordham Rhys Rosenbaum, 6, and daughter Essex Reese Rosenbaum, 4.

Hebert revealed on Instagram that she and Rosenbaum have already been separated for "months."

"It is with a heavy heart that I share with you that, after months of separation, Jp and I have amicably decided to go our separate ways," wrote Herbert. "We created the most beautiful children and shared memories that will never be forgotten. Our differences have taken a toll on our relationship and after years of attempting to repair the damage, we’ve decided that it is in our family’s best interest to create new and separate lives for our children."

"Please respect our privacy as we move forward with the newness of our lives. Our ultimate focus is to create stable and healthy lives for our children," she concluded. "Thank you for your love and support throughout the years. Wishing you all love, happiness, and good health. ❤️"

Both Hebert, 35, and Rosenbaum, 43, posted matching pictures of the couple dancing together but separate statements on their individual Instagram accounts. The couple got engaged on season seven of 'The Bachelorette' 2011 and got married the following year. Rosenbaum, who was one of the 25 contestants trying to woo her, went on two one-on-one dates and several group dates before traveling to Roslyn, New York, for a hometown date. "I know I told you my biggest fear was falling in love with you and having my heart broken again," Rosenbaum said before getting down on one knee during the finale of the show. In the end, the pediatric dentist accepted the proposal from the real estate entrepreneur.

On December 1, 2012, Hebert and Rosenbaum had their nuptials under the eyes of the ABC cameras in Pasadena, California. In the next four years, Ashley gave birth to two beautiful children and they became one close-knit family. The couple also appeared on ‘Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars’ in 2017 where they talked on a series of topics including their sex life, the pressure of being in the public eye and balancing parenthood and their relationship.

In 2018, the couple went to Aruba to renew their vows and in December 2019, Rosenbaum was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre syndrome, a rare neurological disorder in which the body’s immune system attacks the nerves. Even after he was released from the hospital, he continued to have side-effects of it and the couple fought through it together.

Although their romance started off as a fairytale, the pair have now separated and are looking forward to going their separate ways. "Please please please know that there is no one to blame," wrote Rosenbaum about their separation on Instagram. "We’ve done absolutely everything we possibly can to salvage this marriage," he continued.
