‘Summer House’ Season 10 Episode 9 recap: West Wilson plays mediator after Kyle Cooke’s explosive outburst
The latest episode of ‘Summer House’ Season 10 brought uncomfortable moments, involving Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula. And right in the middle of it all was West Wilson, who somehow found himself stepping into the role of peacemaker. The tension carried over from the previous episode, where Cooke had a drunken outburst directed at his then-wife, Batula. During that heated moment, Cooke yelled, “f*ck you,” at Batula, and went even further, calling her a “f*cking dumb** bit**.” On March 31, as the cast gathered to celebrate Cooke turning 43, the mood felt off. And while Cooke and Batula avoided addressing the situation head-on, Wilson decided he was not letting it slide. Pulling Cooke aside, Wilson approached the situation carefully but directly, asking, “Do you remember last night in any capacity?”
Cooke admitted he did remember. However, he said he was “trying to compartmentalize.” He explained, “If I’m going to be honest, I don't know what triggered me. There's so much that's built up.” Wilson did not let him off easy. “I know that there's a lot of layers and depth to your relationship,” he stated. “But that cannot be the correct way for you to get sh*t off your chest, and that was bad.” As the conversation continued, Cooke tried to explain where his frustration had been coming from. He says Batula had been spending more time with the group and less with him. “If I can be honest, I'm basically falling apart,” Cooke admitted. Wilson cut in with simple advice: “Tell her that, though, for starters. Say, ‘I'm sorry, I didn't mean it. I should not talk to you like that.’” Later that night, Cooke finally apologized, but Batula did not let it pass without question.
She wanted to know why the apology came after hours of silence instead of right away. The next morning, the two sat down to talk properly, and Cooke admitted, “I really don't know what got into me,” before adding, “I needed time to figure out why I said that. I said what I said because I'm an a*shole, but also, I don't feel like you want to be with me.” Batula acknowledged they were “in a weird place right now,” but she called out, “The way that you speak to me and the things that you say to me is the issue. I just really feel disrespected constantly.” Cooke admitted their relationship felt like it was in “troubled water.” Meanwhile, Batula, reflecting on their history, made it clear she was reaching her limit.

She said, “I've literally stuck by your side through thick and thin, through all the rumors, through all the yelling, through all the name-calling, like, I've been here. But I can't put up with it much longer.” Cooke responded with his own concerns. “But I also feel like there are times where I don't think you care,” he said. “How come we're not putting in the work? I guess that's what is confusing for me. Would you go into couples therapy?” Finally, Batula agreed to the idea of therapy. What makes all of this even more complicated is what happened off-screen. In January, Batural and Cooke publicly announced their split after four years of marriage. And then, on March 31, in a twist that caught fans completely off guard, Batula and Wilson confirmed via Instagram stories that they are dating. New episodes of ‘Summer House’ air Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo, with streaming available the next day on Peacock.
