Since waking up from his coma, Sterling Archer (H Jon Benjamin) has been largely placed on the bench when it comes to spy missions, at least until he's in the peak of health and no longer needs a cane to get around. His spy organization has been going on missions without him and Archer, of course, is having none of it. However, his own personal security issues quickly gets in the way of him being able to check for more dangerous security as he sets off every alarm he possibly could getting into the place.

The teaser for the episode, titled 'Helping Hands' sees Lana Kane (Aisha Tyler) and Cyril Figgis (Chris Parnell) infiltrating the home of someone who is, according to Dr Krieger (Lucky Yates), one of the greatest inventors in the world. The mission appears to be going smoothly until Archer shows up - a statement whose only surprise lies in the fact that there's at least a moment of relative quiet before everything goes wrong. Archer was definitely not meant to be on the mission, but more importantly, he did not have any of the intel available to Lana and Cyril about the security measures in place in the building.

Lana is at first impressed with how Archer managed to get past the security measures without any of that intel, but it turns out that she spoke too soon, as alarms, security turrets and lasers erupt from the woodwork in a delayed response to Archer's forced entry. It's not the first time Archer's endangered his colleagues to soothe his own ego and it will be far from the last. With his injuries still in place from his recent coma, however, it's going to be harder than usual for Archer to be able to help get them out of trouble. Knowing Archer, however, it's likely only a matter of time before he manages to get them into even worse trouble than they were in before. Considering whose home the trio are robbing, the traps, at least, should be quite inventive.
