Apple TV's sci-fi series, 'Foundation' finally made its much-awaited premiere and the audience who looked eager to watch prolific writer, Isaac Asimov's novel come to life were thrilled to bits. The streaming platform dropped two episodes on September 24 and the reactions have been positive. The ten-episode series created by David S Goyer follows Hari Seldon (Jared Harris), a mathematician and a psychologist, who uses the science of psychohistory to predict the future using math and historical patterns. The prediction is that the Galactic Empire will see a massive decline.

Starring Lee Pace, Terrence Mann, Leah Harvey, Laura Birn, Lou Llobell, and Cassian Bilton in pivotal roles, 'Foundation' sticks to the original storyline with Goyer bringing in some novel concepts. 'Foundation' also opened to positive critical acclaim and has an 83% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. With this, the series is poised to join decorated sci-fi, mythical sagas — 'Star Wars' and 'Lord of the Rings' that have become cult classics.

'Foundation' Review: Apple TV series on Isaac Asimov's work is sci-fi extraordinaire

Fan review: Positive

Talking about the show soon after its release, one of the fans wrote: "Never thought I'd want an Apple product. Guess I was wrong #Foundation #scifi #myfavourite." Another tweeted: "How on the Earth I’ve never came across Isaac Asimov’s #Foundation before?!? Watched the first episode of the @Apple adaptation and halfway through the book, no wonder it’s called Foundation…it really is foundation of modern day sci-if!"

There was one doubt by a fan who wasn't thrilled with the dark storyline. "A story with no humor isn't human. This is what bugs me about #Foundation and its ilk. Please, tell a dark story about the fall of civilization. But if the characters never joke and the audience never laughs, it just doesn't hit true.. @jonrog1, @MaryRobinette- am I wrong?." But the positive reviews far outweighed the negative ones. One fan of the show wrote, "#Foundation on @AppleTV is even better than advertised. This series is going to be one of the best ever. Well done," a fan wrote."F*** me! #Foundation looks utterly superb!"
