'We couldn't make history without you': Angela Bassett honors Chadwick Boseman at the Critics' Choice Awards
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever' is among one of the most memorable and most celebrated movies of 2022. This movie became a worldwide phenomenon and became one of the most significant features of 2022. Angela Basset has donned the ever-majestic role of Queen Ramonda in 'Black Panther' and 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever'. Bassett has decorated the role with her seasoned performance which played an integral role in the narration process of the movie. Her marvellous and memorable performance in 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever' has recently gained her the Golden Globes for Best Supporting Actress - Motion Picture. And Bassett is the first person to win a Golden Globe in the acting category for a Marvel movie.

Angela Bassett was also recently awarded the Critics' Choice Movie Award for Best Supporting Actress and while accepting the award, she thanked her co-star and late actor Chadwick Boseman for everything. As reported in People, during her acceptance speech, Basset thanked fans, the family of Disney and Marvel including Kevin Feige, Victoria Alonso, Louis D'Esposito and director Ryan Coogler and cast and crew. She also remarked on her pride in what they were able to achieve with both movies. She also mentioned her career path and pioners like Ruby Dee and Cicely Tyson, Rosalind Cash and Diahann Carroll who paved the way for Black Actresses. She finally thanked Chadwick for being the love and light surrounding us and added that history could not have been made without him.
"Thank you to Chadwick, for your love and light surrounding us. We couldn't have made history then and now without you. Thank you to the Marvel fans, I share this with you and thank you".
During her backstage interview, while answering the question about her acceptance speech and the mentioning of Chadwick Boseman and what he meant to her, Bassett remarked that she adored and loved him as a brother and a colleague. "Such a light and such an inspiration and such a leader...a leader on set in his quiet, dignified way and his immense talent going before...I miss him, miss him dearly. But as I said, he is with us, in spirit, even now ", Bassett said.
'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever' will be available at Disney Plus Hotstar on February 1.
