Angela Bassett rings in 60th birthday by showing off her bikini bod
Aging is normal, but not for Angela Bassett; the word doesn't seem to exist in her dictionary at all. Moreover, she took the whole concept of aging gracefully, a couple of thousand notches higher. Turning 60, Bassett flaunted her gorgeous physique in a bikini photo on Instagram, defying all preconceived notions society loves to throw at women beyond the age of 30.
In the photo, Bassett presented herself in all her glory, rocking a banging patterned two-piece bikini that could easily give any current model a run for their money. She captioned the photo: "Happy Birthday to all my Leo brothers and sisters. Let’s eat cake!” It seems fair enough considering it is Leo month, and all the poignant figures under the zodiac have been celebrating it; well, like Barack Obama and Madonna just did.
But back to Bassett - the jaw-dropping bikini shot arrived on the wee hours of the 'Black Panther' actress' birthday, and in it she looks every bit the part of the thriving badass she has been in the industry - much like the characters she has played over the year, especially in the anthology drama, 'American Horror Story.'
But this isn't the first time Bassett has flaunted her glorious figure in swimwear though, as just another bikini shot had graced her fans' and followers' Instagram feed earlier this summer, and she also followed it up showing her off in an ab-baring jumpsuit for the premiere of 'A Wrinkle in Time.'
Back in March, Bassett’s stylist, Jennifer Austin had shared with People Style how Bassett isn't hesitant to show off the midriff that she worked so hard for. “Angela is a beautiful, smart, elegant and most importantly confident woman with a youthful spirit,” Austin had shared. “She embodies those things at all times, and she works hard to keep herself together, so every now and then we like show it off.”
She added, “With Angela, I push the lines of what society thinks a woman of a certain age should look and dress like. When I style my clients, I dress them based on their personality, energy, and spirit as well as their body type and what they realistically can pull off.”
