'Andor': Can children watch the latest 'Star Wars' series starring Diego Luna?
'Andor' may have been well-received by critics and fans alike, but the age limit for viewing poses a bit of a challenge. While Star Wars content is generally regarded as safe for children, 'Andor' deviates from the usual pattern the franchise operates in. The spy thriller has been issued12+ rating in the United Kingdom and a TV-14 in the US, meaning it isn't a great idea for kids to be streaming it on Wednesdays. The 'why' is already answered in the first three episodes of the show that premiered on September 21.
The official synopsis reads, "The Andor series will explore a new perspective from the Star Wars galaxy, focusing on Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make. The series brings forward the tale of the burgeoning rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets became involved. It’s an era filled with danger, deception, and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero."

Is 'Andor' suitable for children?
The answer, right off the bat, is a mixed bag. While the series has all the makings of a standard Star Wars show, the over-the-top violence and the intimate scenes that were featured in the first couple of episodes pose a rather tricky question of whether kids can watch the show. The show is rated TV-14 for language and violence, and that would mean parental guidance is needed considering how the show has made some changes to its approach.
The adult themes featured in the series may not necessarily end anytime soon, considering there are nine episodes left in Season 1, and another 12 episodes in the offing with Season 2 already confirmed. The series stars Diego Luna, Genevieve O’Reilly, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller, and Fiona Shaw, in key roles.
