It's been five long years since the first season of Marvel's 'Daredevil' landed on Netflix. The show was a major milestone for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as it was the first project to prove that the dark, gritty Marvel Knights side of the MCU could work just as well as the family-friendly movies.

Nearly two years after its cancellation, 'Daredevil' still commands the respect of hardcore Marvel fans and the show itself has a dedicated following that still continues to petition Marvel to bring Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock aka Daredevil back to screens. So for the show's five year anniversary, we decided to put together a list of the Top 5 best moments from the series' history.

5) Daredevil vs Bullseye vs Wilson Fisk

'Daredevil' has had some amazing action sequences in its three seasons on Netflix but this one holds a special distinction as the very last fight of the series. Coming in the series finale, this epic fight pits Matt, Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio), and Benjamin "Dex" Poindexter (Wilson Bethel), the show's version of Daredevil's arch-nemesis Bullseye, in a no-holds-barred three-way battle.

Right from the very beginning, this fight is nothing like the sort of superhero battles that one usually expects to see. No, this one is a brawl between three men with a shared history of pain that they unleash on each other and you can almost feel the emotional intensity in each punch thrown.

4) World on fire

Matt's particular way of "seeing" the world has been portrayed in many ways over the years in the comics. That said, this scene is probably the most visually stunning depiction of Daredevil's vision.

In the scene, Matt talks to Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson) about the way his abilities work and in the process he reveals to her that he sees "a world on fire". Portrayed with some stunning effects, it's a surreal image that adds some beauty to the darkness of the show.

3) Hallway fight scene

One day, when the history of superhero fiction is written by our descendants, this scene (featured above) will have a chapter all to itself. As we noted above, there's been a lot of great action sequences in 'Daredevil' but this scene, which sees Matt fight his way through an army of criminals, this scene is probably the reason a lot of us fell in love with this show in the first place.

Expertly choreographed and directed, the hallway fight is just one of those moments that automatically come to mind the second we think of the show. It would be number one on this list if it weren't for these two iconic moments.

2) Suit reveal

Of course, we can't forget the scene in the Season 1 finale where Daredevil's complete suit is revealed. After fighting in what's basically a homemade ninja outfit throughout the first season, this was the moment Matt truly became Daredevil, complete with the iconic horns and red outfit.

We're pretty glad the show didn't try to give him the yellow outfit first (that was his actual first outfit in the comics) but more than that, this scene couldn't have been better constructed. After spending a whole season watching Matt find his feet as a hero, it was very satisfying to finally see him as a complete hero.

1) Confessional scene

Three minutes. That's how long this scene is and that's exactly how long it took for the show to establish everything about itself from its tone to Charlie Cox's acting.

Not only does this scene give us a sense of the religious undertones of the series but it also gives us some insight into exactly the sort of person Matt Murdock truly is. His struggle with his own inner darkness and his desire to extinguish the darkness around him are both powerfully conveyed.

There are no explosions, no bright flashing lights, practically no movement at all. And yet if you were to boil the showdown to one scene that captures the essence of what 'Daredevil' is all about, this is the scene you would get.

'Daredevil' first arrived on Netflix on April 10, 2015.
