'AGT' Season 17: Fans feel Drake deserves golden buzzer and 'should go to the finals'
NBC's 'America's Got Talent' Season 17 resumes with the second round of auditions at 8 pm ET on June 7. Drake Milligan, with his guitar and all-denim outfit, was one of the aspirants to take the stage.
During his tryouts for 'American Idol' in 2018, the 24-year-old Country singer, actor, and Elvis impersonator surprised the judges with his performance of "You Look So Good in Love." Despite enchanting audiences, he left the show soon after to concentrate on his music career before taking on such a wide stage. But it appears like he is ready to try again! Milligan sang his original song "Sounds Like Something I'd Do" off his self-titled EP from 2021 in the most recent episode of 'AGT.'

Milligan is primarily known for his booming voice and Country music influences, but his Elvis Presley impersonations have also been used on television. He portrayed Elvis Presley in the 2018 CMT miniseries 'Sun Records,' which traces the genesis of rock 'n' roll through the eyes of musical pioneer Sam Phillips (Chad Michael Murray) and his Sun Records recording facility in Tennessee. Even though the show only lasted one season, it got positive reviews and Milligan's portrayal of the rock legend was remembered fondly.
Not only was he seen having a fantastic time onstage at 'AGT,' commanding his skill, but the judges and audience members alike were delighted and driven to dance and cheer towards the end of the song. Host Terry Crews was ecstatic, while Howie referred to him as "the new Elvis of Country" and assured him that his performance on the show has put him on the map. Heidi was thrilled to see a band play on the 'AGT' stage this season, while Sofia described it as a perfect blend of a fantastic song and performance. Simon loved the song and described it as "authentic," and the vocalist as "very likable." The singer and his band walked away with "four-yesses" and the opportunity to advance in the competition.
Fans of social media are as excited as the studio audience, as many took to Twitter to share their opinion after the performance. Many felt that he should've gotten the "Golden Buzzer" and made it straight to the finale. One of them tweeted: ".@SimonCowell #AGT Drake Milligan from Texas was fabulous. He should go to the finals and got the golden buzzer. Great singer and performer"
