TOKYO, JAPAN: Former WWE Women's Tag Team Champions Naomi, who left the company in 2022 along with Sasha Banks, is reportedly planning a return to WWE. Sasha Banks and Naomi, whose real name is Trinity Fatu McCray, quit WWE on May 15, 2022, after becoming dissatisfied with how their creative direction as Women's Tag Team Champions was handled.

On Tuesday, January 3 on Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez stated that he believed Naomi will be returning to the company and would not be joining Banks in NJPW. He said, "Of course, there is no official information on Naomi, but my impression is she will be returning to WWE. Actually, you can report that my belief is that she will be returning to WWE because she will certainly be returning to WWE. I will just say that. Other than that, I don't know what is going on." Banks is currently expected to take the stage at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17. Naomi and WWE star Bayley are both reportedly in Japan to show their support for Banks.

Talks concerning Naomi and Banks' status and potential return to WWE have been a hot topic since Vince McMahon's resignation and Paul Levesque's hiring as head of creative as part of the new administration. It was announced in early December of 2022 that Banks would be appearing at Wrestle Kingdom 17 for NJPW, rather than WWE. She is reportedly a free agent right now.

There hasn't been much of an update on Naomi's status since it was stated last month that her future in the world of professional wrestling is questionable because "nothing has been said about her." The WWE had benefited greatly from Naomi's presence when she joined in 2009.

Naomi had won the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships once and the SmackDown Women's Championship twice. Additionally, she was the first-ever champion of the Wrestlemania Women's Battle Royal.

For the past eight years, Naomi has been married to Jimmy Uso, also known as Jonathan Fatu. Uso and Naomi initially connected through the WWE, and they dated for almost a month before getting hitched in 2014. Naomi is stepmother to Jayla and Jaiden, Uso's two children from his previous marriage to Takecia Travis.
