'American Idol' Season 21: Who is Katey Parry? Judge 'namesake' set to woo audience with soulful voice
NORMAL, ILLINOIS: It’s time for 'American Idol' Season 21, which is great news for those who can’t wait to see the latest crop of contestants blow away the judges and the rest of America. Season 21 of the reality show is set to debut on Sunday, February 19, at 8 pm ET/PT on ABC. The season will have nearly 18 two-hour-long episodes in total, ending in May 2023, and fans will be able to stream it on Hulu one day after the TV broadcast.
The show will feature judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry, and Lionel Richie judging contestants from all across Nashville, Las Vegas, and New Orleans. Several Idols from the previous season of 'American Idol' will join the show as mentors to help the contestants in various stages of the competition. And this season has a twist! Season 21 will feature a new storyline called 'Judges Namesake', which will have contestants who have identical names to the three judges. A young lady, Katey Parry is a part of this storyline and fans can't wait to see her debut. She is studying Musical Theater at the Chicago College of Performing Arts.

Katey Parry is a young student who hails from Nornam Illinois. Coincidentally it's the same town as last season’s participant Leah Marlene. She is a student at the Chicago College of Performing Arts and is currently pursuing Musical Theatre. Katey likes to attend concerts and festivals with her friends and likes a good party as she often shares posts on Instagram hanging out with her friends.
She is a quirky young woman and was the president and vice president of Roosevelt’s school spirit club. She likes to go hiking and enjoys spending time in nature. Katey has a pet cat and has shared some cute bonding moments with her. Katey also took part in the Illinois High School Theater Festival and enjoys performing on stage in front of an audience.
