'American Idol': Fans ask Lionel Richie to get 'ears checked' for praising Dan Marshall's act

After watching 'American Idol' judges praise Dan Marshall, fans took to Twitter to call them out for it

As Dan Marshall continues to beeze through the 'American Idol' competition, fans continues to feel puzzled about his stint on the show. From wondering how he was still in the competition to dubbing him as nothing more than a karaoke singer, fans have had several strong feeling about him.

Despite the harsh feedback from fans, Dan continued to be a hit amongst the audience, as they kept voting for him. So, when Dan took to the stage for his Top 14 performance and crooned to Kenny Chesney's 'She's Got it All', it felt like a deja vu. The judges- Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie couldn't get enough of him. Lionel dubbed his performance as one of the best performances in the competition. After watching the judges sing his praises, fans took to Twitter to call out the judges for their overtly positive feedback of Dan's performance.

A fan tweeted, "Judges not giving Dan good advice. They want him out in favor of Noah. Noah is a more of a recording artist than Dan. #AmericanIdol." "That was not good,Dan, why didn't Lionel say he wasn't in tune for much of it. It wasn't good. Katy just say it wasn't good #AmericanIdol," wrote a fan. "#americanidol Karaoke Dan...boring. The hosts need to stop pushing this. Mediocre. Others are way better," pointed out a fan. "I think Lionel should get his hearing checked because Dan and has been awful… #AmericanIdol," added a fan.

Many fans slammed Dan's performance. A fan shared, "Why is Dan still here? He is very karaoke. #AmericanIdol." "Dan was terrible, out of tune, no stage presence #AmericanIdol," seconded a fan. "Dan is the most generic singer this season so he'll probably end up winning lol #americanidol," sepculated a fan.
