'American Horror Story: 1984' could be a film within a show like 'Roanoke' with Coven's Madison Montgomery playing Brooke

Remember in 'Apocalypse' when Madison Montgomery was in her personal hell, bragging about having bagged a slasher project? Voila!

At any given point of the day, at least one 'American Horror Story' fan is trying to interconnect the nine released seasons of Ryan Murphy's anthology horror. Sorry, we don't make the rules, these are just facts based on how frequently these fan theories connecting the seasons with one another pop up, the latest of them being the ongoing ninth season '1984' is a season 6, aka 'My Roanoke Nightmare' type movie within the show, with season 3: Coven's Madison Montgomery playing the role of 1984' protagonist, Brooke Thompson.

Apart from the fact that Emma Roberts, aka Brooke this season, was also the face of Madison from 'Coven', fans have now pointed out that '1984' could just turn out to be extremely meta and follow Roanoke's pattern, where the cast played real-life characters in a movie within the show. Twitter user @buterasnapped poted: "y’all i’ve read so many ahs theories and now i actually believe the first five episodes is the movie and the rest of the season is the characters filming the movie and being famous actors and a serial killer is after them. because the actors irl are filming in LA."

Add to that the fact that the intro to this season is the first time the show has revamped its signature dubstep music and put on a fun disco scene, and even if that isn't convincing enough, let's not forget that the full cast announcement for '1984' was done in the fashion of a casting call. So if 1984's camp-horror plot with a slasher serial killer is really a movie or a production within the show, it's quite possible that Coven's Madison Montgomery - the problematic teen actress - finally found the role of her dreams!

Fans will remember that in Season 8, 'Apocalypse', in a sequence where everyone was in their own personal hell, Madison is working in retail. There she mentions bagging a 'Michael Myers' film, aka the infamous masked murderer from the 80's film franchise, 'Halloween'. Considering Season 9 is based around a masked murderer terrorizing Camp Redwood, it's possible that this is the film Madison was talking about in 'Apocalypse.' That would also explain the signature horror tropes Murphy has played into this season because all of this could be a satirical spin on the genre! How cool is that!?

'American Horror Story: 1984' airs on Wednesdays at 9 pm, only on FX.
