Entering a new phase is never easy and sometimes it can be nerve-wracking as well. People have so many expectations when they start their professional careers, but they get the real picture when they start a new job. That’s what happened with Spencer (Daniel Ezra) and Olivia (Samantha Logan).

The supremely fit athlete has started to train and he’s finding how difficult it can be for anyone to become a professional footballer. He is waking up at 6 am and leaving the practice at 10:30 pm, with just 2 breaks in between. Spencer is trying hard to get better at his game, but the schedule is so hectic that he can barely keep his eyes open. On the other hand, Olivia has joined the LA Tribune as an Intern and she will be getting paid this time around.

Spencer and Jordan have a chat and Jordan tells Spencer that they would need to earn their places in the team. It doesn’t matter what they did during high school and now, they would have to earn their places in the team. Meanwhile, Olivia is upset that she and Spencer are able to meet for such a short time. She talks about this with Jordan and he tells her that he wouldn’t have been able to cope with the strenuous schedule. Olivia feels like these meetings during a break might be giving him the rest he deserves.

But now it’s time for Spencer to show how talented he really is. The team is holding a scrimmage under the lights and everyone will be there. At first, the main coach of the team doesn’t let him play. Why? Earlier, at the training, Spencer used just one hand to catch the ball and the coach didn’t like that. So, he waits for his turn. The assistant coach helps him and sends him in. He is feeling really excited, but it seems, he has to be at his ultimate best if he wants to be in the playing squad. Unfortunately, he is not able to catch the ball in his first attempt and the main coach immediately calls him out of the ground.

However, Jordan and one of their friends also get a chance to showcase their talent and they do great. The main coach tells Spencer that this is how a player gets off the line and makes Spencer feel the heat. He comes to meet Billy Baker and talk about how he blew his chance. Billy told him that he should not consider himself as the best player in the team because everyone there is the “best”.

Elsewhere, Olivia finally confronts her boss and asks her why she’s not being given anything to write. Her boss calmly tells her that this is how everyone starts and this is how she started, but she knows that Olivia has got the flair to write some great stories and her time will come as well.

The show ends with Spencer and Olivia meeting each other. Olivia asks her if she is hurting his chances to be better. To which, he replies that she isn’t. He also reveals that he looks forward to the snack breaks and now it’s time for a new plan. Spencer starts working out even harder and tells the main coach that he would do everything to become better.
