‘All American’ Season 3 Episode 8 Spoilers: Did Spencer switch seats with Olivia or will she fail sobriety test?

A love triangle, an accident and alcoholism, The CW show makes you question one too many things with all the twists and turns

Olivia Baker (Samantha Logan) or Layla Keating (Greta Onieogou), who deserves to be with Spencer James (Daniel Ezra)? ‘All American’ fans were stuck on that question even before Season 3 began but the recent episode titled ‘Canceled’ changed things for all three of them. 

A love triangle, an accident and alcoholism, the latest episode of The CW show makes you question one too many things. The one-hour drama begins with Spencer trying to clear his mind after Layla finds out his past with Olivia. From twists and turns in his love life and football career, Spencer has too many things going on and he decides to head for a morning workout session with his brother to clear his mind.

With Homecoming King and Queen nominations being announced, neither Spencer (Daniel Ezra) nor Coop (Bre-Z) seem to be in a celebratory mood. Laura (Monet Mazur) notices that Olivia (Samantha Logan) has become more withdrawn and allows Olivia and Jordan (Michael Evans Behling) to both take a mental health day and get some much-needed twin bonding time.

As expected, things get heated with Layla and Olivia, leaving the latter to get some much-needed clarity. In a fiery rift, Layla even tells Olivia that she can have Spencer. Meanwhile, Billy (Taye Diggs) is frustrated with the interim principal’s new rules, leaving Spencer to come up with a game plan with a little help from Grace (Karimah Westbrook).

Not just that, the episode also shows another twist as Preach shows up at the Cafe to talk to Coop. Will Coop let go of her suspicions about Mo? Only time will tell. 

As the episode comes to a close, Olivia shows up to talk to Spencer. She only recently confessed her feelings, saying, "I love you. I ain’t even sure when it happened. Maybe it was the night I got shot, watching movies with you all summer, or maybe since my first day at Beverly and I just ain’t realize it but I know now. I’m in love with you."

As they go for a drive, she accepts that she feels a strong connection with him. However, the episode ends with a shocking car crash. In a major cliffhanger, Olivia asks Spencer to switch seats with her because she won’t pass a sobriety test. Will this accident change their dynamic forever? Many angry fans have even gone on to say that do not like Spencer and Olivia together. 

"OF COURSE SHE CRASHED THE CAR BYE AND HER IM NOT GONNA PASS THE SOBRIETY TEST OLIVIA," one tweet read and another said, "Whhhaaatt?? I know good and well that Olivia didn't just put Spencer in a predicament that could f*ck up his future, because she isn't sober!!" A third wrote, "Spencer better not switch seats with Olivia that’s all I know." Another said, "I love this Spencer and Olivia love story, but this is a lot of trauma bonding. The shooting, them helping Layla, Liv’s addictions, and this accident. It’s giving unhealthy."

What will happen in the next episode? Will Spencer switch seats with her? Going by the promo for the next episode, he seems to have taken the fall for her as Coach Baker unleashes his wrath on Spencer. How will this end for the two of them?

‘All American’ Season 3 premiered with its first episode on January 18 and the eighth episode titled ‘Canceled’ was telecasted on March 8, 2021, at 8 pm ET on The CW. Now, fans can't stop wondering when the next episode will air but they might have to wait until April 12, 2021.

The network announced the estimated schedule for its fall shows and the series is slated for the 8 pm to 9 pm time slot on Mondays. Going by the previous seasons, this one should also come with 16 episodes.
