Alberto Del Rio: Controversial wrestler wants to make amends with Triple H and return to WWE
Many of the wrestlers that Vince McMahon's management released during the Covid-19 pandemic have since been rehired. Whether they were effective or not, the approach brought a number of stars back to WWE. One of those celebrities is Alberto Del Rio, a former world champion, who was released by the company.
It will now be fascinating to see if WWE is willing to rehire Alberto Del Rio. The wrestler expressed regret for having crossed Triple H in the past, and said he now understood why he wasn't employed during his final stint with the organization.

Del Rio expects to return to WWE
The former money-in-the-bank winner has previously stated that he would want nothing more than to make atonement and rejoin WWE. The former world champion may make one more appearance with the business if that transpires. Before he bids adieu to the ring, he could easily face several of the top stars present at that moment. But he would need a deal with Triple H for any of this to work.
After a backstage altercation resulted in his termination in 2014, he asked for his release in 2016 because he was dissatisfied with the creative direction of the show. Del Rio criticized the company and Triple H during his second exit, but he has since repeatedly apologized to The Game.
In an earlier interview with Sportskeeda's WrestleBinge, Del Rio accepted his past mistakes and said, “Of course, I've done it. I've done it publicly. There are some people saying, 'Oh, you're doing it because you need a job.' No, I always had a job. Different kind of job, not in the wrestling business. I always had a job. I just did it because I learned I should have never crossed the line with Triple H. There was a reason why he was not using me, but back then, I was stupid, and I thought he just didn't like me and not because, at the time, they wanted to push new stars, and Mexico was not the market it used to be.”
No surety regarding his return
When reports of Del Rio's return to WWE first surfaced, it appeared that neither Triple H nor anybody else in the company was in favor of the star's comeback. However, it will be intriguing to see whether this changes if Del Rio does make amends.
