'Agents of SHIELD' Season 7 reaches the halfway mark when Episode 6 'Adapt or Die' hits ABC on Wednesday, July 1. From time travel, the return of old foes, trademark Marvel humor, and some insane Easter eggs, the final installment is firing on all cylinders. It's safe to speculate that the storyline will scale up a notch in terms of intrigue and action as Mack (Henry Simmons) comes into the picture. The final minutes of last week's episode, 'A Trout in the Milk', saw the Zephyr surrounded even if the team successfully thwarted Project Insight.

However, there are still three plotlines the episode left unaddressed. The first was Simmons with the three red dots that eerily glowed and disappeared. That is a mystery in itself and it appears, the only person, or Chronicom who seems to know what's happening is Enoch. Next up, Sousa (Enver Gjokaj) and Daisy (Chloe Bennet) were kidnapped by Nathaniel Malick. The final plotline has to do with Mack's parents and the repercussions of the action of saving his parents in the next episode.

The official synopsis reads: "The stakes are higher than ever when, after blowing their cover and damaging the Zephyr in the process, the team must scramble to rescue Mack’s parents, save S.H.I.E.L.D. from a chronicom infestation, and fix the ship … all before the next time-jump. Meanwhile, Daisy and Sousa find themselves at a disadvantage against a power-hungry Nathaniel Malick and his goons, and Coulson will have to do the thing he does best in order to save the future."

From the synopsis, it is pretty clear the onus is on Coulson (Clark Gregg) to save the team and the promo sees him and May (Ming-Na Wen) kick some butt while Mack decides to bring some pain. While we're sure he's referring to the Chronicoms, the question is: How will they do it?

One interesting theory fans picked up from the previous episode was how the end of the season night lead to the birth of SWORD better known as the Sentient World Observation and Response Department. "Did you guys get the Easter egg when Coulson was punching in the password to get to the bar. There was a slight pause between the words SWORD and FISH when he was trying to punch in the word "swordfish." Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. may be ending....but it could spell the beginning of Marvel's Agents of SWORD! And who knows they may bring in some of our OG characters," a fan posted on YouTube. While this may still be a debatable theory, the first order of business for the agents will be to tackle the Chronicom threat.

'Agents of SHIELD' airs Wednesdays 10 pm ET on ABC.
