LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Grammy fans have caused a social media uproar after late singer Aaron Carter was snubbed during the Grammy 2023's highly-anticipated "In Memoriam" segment. Aaron Carter died last year on November 5, at the age of 34, inside his house in Lancaster, California.

The Grammys 2023 honored stars like Loretta Lynn, Takeoff, tWitch, and scores of other icons who left the world too soon. Bonnie Raitt, Christine McVie, Quavo Kacey Musgraves, Sheryl Crow, and Mick Fleetwood were just a few of the stars who took the stage for a live performance during the segment. Even though Carter's name was mentioned among the list of stars to be honored on the website his photo did not appear in the tribute, leaving his heartbroken fans enraged with fury.

How did Aaron Carter die?

The singer was found dead in the bathtub of his California home last year, on November 5. Even though his official cause of death has not yet been announced, Carter's family believed that the singer relapsed into his drug addiction which is considered the most likely cause of death. Carter's housekeeper discovered his unresponsive body and frantically called the police. The child pop star was announced dead at the scene.

Carter was survived by his fiancée Melanie Martin and his son, Prince, who was only 11 months old. Martin broke the tragic news of the death of her fiance saying, "My fiancé Aaron Carter has passed away. I love Aaron with all my heart and it’s going to be a journey to raise a son without a father. Please respect the privacy of my family as we come to terms with the loss of someone we love greatly. We are still in the process of accepting this unfortunate reality. Your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated," she told TMZ.

'Shame on you!'

Internet users were incensed after the ceremony forgot to pay tribute to the singer. One user wrote on Twitter, "They included people who werent musicians but they cant include him? Thats wrong." Another added, "Smfh at the Grammy’s. How hard is it to honor an artist that made millennials childhood and left a mark in pop music." A third tweeted, "5th grade me is really upset Aaron Carter wasn’t featured in the Grammy’s remembrance tribute." "The audacity of Grammy's for not including Aaron Carter on that 'In Memoriam' segment! Despite his mental illness and addiction when he was alive, his music brought happiness to his listeners. Shame on you!" read another tweet. "Grammy’s really didn’t pay tribute to Aaron Carter?!?!?!? What a load of shit!!! very upsetting!!!" a user claimed. "Poor guy even after his life on this earth he’s getting treated horribly!!! RIP Aaron Carter! Screw the Grammy’s!!!!" a fan commented.
