LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kendrick Lamar wins big at the 65th edition of Grammy Awards. The rapper won the 'Best Rap Album Award' for his album 'Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers'. While accepting the award he thanked his family for giving him the "courage and vulnerability" to tell his stories.
Meanwhile, the Internet noticed the faces of disappointment on fellow nominees, Pusha T, DJ Khaled, and Jack Harlow. The albums which received the nomination other than 'Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers' include Pusha T's 'It’s Almost Dry', Jack Harlow's 'Come Home the Kids Miss You', Future's 'I Never Liked You', and DJ Khaled's 'God Did'.

Kendrick Lamar wins 'Best Rap Album Award'
At the 65th Grammy Awards, Lamar’s single 'The Heart Part 5' won awards for 'Best Rap Performance' and 'Best Rap Song'. He lost his 'Best Melodic Rap Performance' nod (for 'Die Hard') to Tems, who earned the accolade for their track 'Wait for U'. After winning the award, he said, "I wanna thank my fans for trusting me with these words. As artists, we're all entertainers, and we say things to provoke thoughts and feelings, and emotions, so making this record, was one of my toughest records to make. Going back and thinking about where I started with rap and how far it's came, I would like to thank the culture for allowing me to evolve and be able to make a song like 'Mother I Sober'. All we ever wanted was to be able to be the biggest underground artist of all time, and I finally found imperfection with this album," as per Brooklyn Vegan.
Is it the first time Kendrick Lamer winning Grammy Awards?

Lamar was also nominated at the 2014 Grammy Awards for 'Good Kid, M.A.A.D City', but lost the award to the hip-hop duo Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.
