'90 Day Fiancé': Usman tries to justify Lisa's controlling nature, fans think he's with her for the green card
Usman and Lisa finally met in person and the two have been having a great time together. However, there have been instances when the two got into a huge fight which often made them question if they should continue their relationship. Despite this, Usman made the decision of bringing Lisa to his hometown to meet his mother.
Usman was worried that Lisa may not react in a good way when she reached his home. With Lisa's expectations being higher than what one can find in Nigeria, Usman found it hard to please her. Once they arrived in his hometown, the two decided to stay in a hotel. They were greeted by Usman's friend Bobo.
Bobo took the pair to the hotel but Lisa was not pleased to see the room. She started complaining and Usman was left struggling to find the right words that would make Lisa understand that this is what she would get in Nigeria. The two finally came to an understanding and Bobo decided to leave.
While leaving, he informed Usman that Lisa was very beautiful but one thing he did not appreciate was the controlling behavior she had. He reminded Usman that traditionally, according to Islam, Usman should have control over his soon-to-be-wife. Usman agreed but said that this was the way all American women were.
He explained that in America, women controlled the men and loved speaking their minds. Bobo decided to cut the conversation short and take a leave. While Usman seemed convinced with his answers, viewers reminded him that he was wrong and educated him about how women and men were in a partnership in any relationship.
Many reminded him that women did not control men and if Lisa was treating him like that it was because he was letting her. "Idk where Usman heard that American women control the men. If that was the case this country would be a whole lot better," read one comment.
Another wrote, "Excuse me, Usman? We do not have control over men!!!!! We just don’t pee in buckets! And you have a warped view of things bc you assume Lisa can carry your children! So sit your solja ass down!"
Some thought that Usman was putting up with this attitude for a green card as one wrote, "That Usman is putting up with to get that green card. OMG. Baby Love Lisa is beyond. I just can't with her."
Another added, "Lisa has entitlement issues and she talks to Usman like she owns him. I hope his mother puts her in her place. But, Usman will put up with it to get that green card."
