‘90 Day Fiance: The Other Way’ Season 4: Why was Isabel Posada ‘nervous’ when she found out Gabriel Paboga was trans? Daughter’s support was key
COLUMBIA, SOUTH AMERICA: Isabel Posada is more than happy and unperturbed to accept Gabriel Paboga for who he is. In a sneak peek of Sunday's episode of '90 Day Fiance: The Other Way,' the Columbian woman describes how it was to discover that her love interest was transgender. That didn't disturb her, though she did admit to having some concerns about Gabe's life.
Gabe and Isabel are among several new couples featured on the Season 4 premiere of '90 Day Fiance: The Other Way,' and they are already receiving positive feedback from '90 Day Fiance' fans. Gabe was one of the first cast members revealed at the premiere, and he disclosed that he intended to go from the United States to Colombia to be with his love Isabel, whom he met on a trip. Gabe also disclosed that he is transgender, and while Isabel seemed unconcerned about this, he was concerned that her parents would reject him because of it. While viewers are yet to see much of Gabe and Isabel, many are now cheering for the two over the other couples.

Isabel was initially skeptical about Gabe
Isabel reveals in a confessional that she viewed Gabe's Instagram, which showcases his transgender pride before he came out. "I began to see photos of his surgery. I began seeing that he was a trans guy," she expresses herself in Spanish. "That was a big surprise for me. I would have never noticed because Gabe just looks like a man."
She acknowledges that she was originally skeptical "because I didn't see any feminine traits in his body, his voice, his face."
"Everything was perfectly of a man," she continues.
Isabel also recalls Gabe telling her he was transgender through text messages. "To be honest, I was very nervous," she says.
"I felt a lot of things," she goes on to say. "It was mostly my fear because never in my life did I think that I was going to like a trans guy." Isabel, on the other hand, reacted to the text with support and acceptance for Gabe. "We had a connection from the beginning and I wanted to keep talking to him," she recalls.
Isabel's teen daughter shows support towards their relationship
Another part of the video shows Isabel discussing Gabe with her teenage daughter, Sara. "Logically, there was some shock," Sara recalls, after discovering that Gabe is transgender. "At first, I couldn't believe it. But then after, I think I didn't care."
Sara then encourages her mother, since Gabe is only a few hours away from arriving in their native Columbia. "If you're comfortable, that makes me comfortable. I don't think it's a bad thing," Sara says.
'90 Day Fiance: The Other Way' Season 4 airs Sundays at 8 PM ET on TLC.
