Paul Staehle and Karine Martins's relationship has been having problems, and it does not look like things are getting any better for the couple. In the preview for the upcoming episode (September 14), Paul and Karine were all set to head to Brazil. With all their bags packed, the only thing left for the couple was to head to the airport and board the flight. Just when Karine thought things could not go wrong, she grew worried when Paul could not find the passport. While it is uncertain if the two managed to board the flight, one thing is clear, and that is the two have been having a lot of issues.

In the previous episode, it was shown that Karine is not happy with how things have been going in the US. Paul brought her and their son, Pierre to the States with the hope of giving them a better life, but Karine had been feeling that he has not been able to do that as he does not have a job. Karine gave Paul two months to find a job, but all his attempts had been fruitless. Despite this, he decided to try his luck at a sewage plant treatment. In a bid to find a job there, Paul took Karine on a date. She was not thrilled to spend her time at the sewage treatment plant and wondered if it was time for her to head back home.

As their tour came to an end, Karine became more irritated and made it clear that she was not happy to be in the US. Hinting that she was feeling alone in the country, Karine made it clear that she wanted to go back to her country. She had also managed to consult an immigration lawyer who informed her that she had the right to head back home along with their son. Ever since the topic about Karine going back to Brazil with Pierre came, Paul and her relationship had been enduring a lot of strain. Seeing that he was unable to find a job on time, he decided to take some time off and go to Brazil. However, looking at how Paul might have misplaced their passports, will this event also lead to a downfall in their relationship?

'90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After' airs on Sundays at 8 pm ET on TLC.
