Angela Deem and Michael Ilesanmi have been having a hard time being on the same page ever since she came to Nigeria. The two had made plans of getting married, but things did not go the way they had pictured as the two kept getting into arguments. Among many things, the two things that have been struggling with in their relationship is understanding where they stand as a couple and the idea of having a child together.

Angela revealed that she won't be able to carry a child of her own because of her age. Unfortunately, Michael had wanted to be a father for a long time. Besides this, Anglea has been having a hard time accepting some of the conditions that Michael's culture asks for. Being a Nigerian, Michael's family expects Angela to be a submissive wife who cooks and cleans for her husband.

However, Angela believes that being an American she does not have to follow these conditions and would rather be in a relationship that is equal. While Michael has agreed to this term time and again, things became heated in the latest episode (August 23) of the show. Michael's aunt hinted in a conversation that it was important for Angela to be submissive.

While Michael stated that she would be, Angela decided to not sit through the conversation and made it clear that he was wrong. Once the pair got home, Michael tried to explain that he was admitting that Angela would take care of him. However, she did not feel that. Angela believed that Michael had been painting two different pictures and confusing people.

She wanted him to come clean about his thoughts to his mother to make sure there are no differences. Her wish was granted when Michael invited his mother to their home and explained what Angela has wished to see in the relationship. Luckily, his mother agreed. She even approved of the marriage even after finding out that Angela won't be able to have a child of her own.

While the family seemed happy with how things went, viewers were disappointed with how Angela treated Michael through all this. "All Angela does is verbally abuse Michael. She takes the definition of a toxic relationship to the next level," one wrote about their relationship. Another added, "If any man treated a woman 1/2 as bad as Angela treats Michael, they'd be labeled an abuser and shunned for life. So why is Angela allowed to continue to be paid to be on the show & abuse Michael? TLC is glorifying abusive relationships at this point. Shameful!!! "

Another echoed similar thoughts and wrote, "If the roles were reversed and Michael was talking to Angela like the way she’s talking to Michael it would be another story. She is abusive!!!!!!! Guys shouldn’t have to deal with abuse either she is so triggering and degrading."

"They need to remove angela from this show like yesterday. She is abusive af and if a man treated a woman even 1/2 of what she does they would be labelled an abuser and removed. Her behavior is abusive and absolutely disgusting," said another.

'90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After' airs on Sundays at 8 pm ET on TLC.
