'7 Little Johnstons': Family surfing adventure goes wrong as Alex falls overboard

The Johnstons decided to go on a road trip and during their fun adventure they decided to pick up some new skills but it turns out to be a tragedy

The Johnstons decided to go on a road trip together and spend some quality tie together. While the idea of being cramped up in an RV did not fit well with the Johnston children, Amber and Trent Johnston decided to do it anyway. During their trip, the family decided to stop at some of the sports to have some good time together. 

From meeting their relatives to going to the bubblegum alley, the Johnstons seemed to have everything planned. Another thing on their to-do list was to learn surfing. The Johnstons thought it would be the best time to go and acquire some new skills. The Johnstons were excited to jump in the water but one of the difficulties they first faced was getting the suit on. 

Being little people, Trent admitted it is not always easy to fit into some of the clothes. Luckily, they were able to feel comfortable in it and get going with their learning lessons. Trent revealed he felt like a flipper because surfing required them to flap their hand in the water to get motion but since their hands are shorter, they were facing some difficulties. 

Regardless of this, the family managed to get on the board and tried their best at getting the right moves. Unfortunately, Alex Johnston struggled to stay on board and suffered a fall. He started crying in pain and admitted he wasn't feeling too good. 

Amber revealed that Alex had tubes in his ear and if he is stationed too flat then his ear will be filled with fluid and cause pain. She admitted there was a risk of developing an ear infection or even suffering the loss of hearing. Amber advised Alex to lay on the ground to make sure that the fluid gets drained by itself. 

Luckily, after spending 30 mins in that position, Alex felt better as the fluid was drained out. The day ended with the Johnstons learning a thing or two about surfing. Alex admitted that whatever time he had spent was enjoyable while the others were looking forward to another experience like this one. 

Meanwhile, their instructor was also amazed by how well the family did as he had never taught little people before. He admitted he was looking forward to teaching more people like them in the future. 

'7 Little Johnstons' airs on Tuesdays at 10 pm ET on TLC.
