FRISCO, TEXAS: Blake Shelton recently had an 'awkward' and 'uncomfortable' run-in with his ex-wife, Miranda Lambert, at the 59th Academy of Country Music Awards. During the star-studded ceremony, Blake and Miranda had performances just a few minutes apart which led the ex-couple to cross paths backstage.

Miranda debuted her new song 'Wranglers' at the ACM awards, which was seemingly a dig at her ex-husband. Soon after Miranda's performance, Blake along with his current wife, Gwen Stefani, graced the stage with their new duet 'Purple Irises'.

Gwen looked stunning in a purple ribboned top paired with matching sparkling pants, which was definitely a nod to the couple's duet. Meanwhile, Blake opted for an all-black jacket and shirt, styled with jeans. However, the ACM award show viewers pointed out Blake and Miranda's performance timing and trolled the country singer over his 'awkward' moment.

A social media user wrote, "Blake Shelton hasn't been the same since screwing up what he had with Miranda Lambert. Gwen Stefani is a great talent, but is not a country singer. Blake and his wife Gwen Stefani were in the audience when Miranda performed her recently released song.

Miranda released the hit on May 3, and admitted during the red carpet that the song was inspired by his ex-loves and losses. She shared about the song, "We were talking girl talk over tequila one day, writing songs, and we were talking about our past and things we've been through, guys we dated... not so good ones."

Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert parted ways in 2015 after their marriage didn't work out as they planned. The duo announced the split in a joint statement at the time and asked for "privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter."
