Spoilers for 3% Season 4

After four impressive years on the pioneer streamer, Netflix's first-ever Portuguese original '3%' has finally called it a wrap. A primarily feel-good fourth season is predictable and picks up only after the fifth episode when Michele (Bianca Comparato) and her Shell-rebels manage to blow up the Offshore to smithereens. But before everybody can return to the inevitable Inland, Andre (Bruno Fagundes) makes the ultimate sacrifice in the name of the founding couple and kills his own sister. Michele die from Andre's stab to her chest, and thus emerges the final battle between the Island and the Offshore. Yet, after a two-episode run, the war ends with Andre getting on an Oxygen-compromised submarine and sailing for the Offshore, so to answer our question, yes, Andre dies.

Earlier in the episode we see the culmination of the long drawn out fight, represented through Andre and Joanna (Vaneza Oliveira) as the only last remaining soldiers of each army. Joanna breaches a battle between the two and proposes they use the Offshore founding couple's new, uninitiated test for a final process between who gets to rule the inland. It's a test of shapes and colors, whoever has the test-device will have to guess the opponent team's; two wrong answers gets them eliminated and so does having one's secretly assigned shape and color being guessed correctly.

The final round sees Joanna vs. Andre, who had instructed his soldiers to commence shooting if "things go south." Joanna had promised all people publicly that should she win, they would give up all their weapons and march to the Process building to live in peace and harmony. Of course, Joanna guesses Andre's right and his people wage a war with bullets. Everybody goes into hiding and it becomes clear that although Andre waged warn, he lost in the test, so the Inland is officially Joanna's.

When the next day comes, Joanna and Natalia (Amanda Magalhães) wake Rafael (Rodolfo Valente) up to clear dawn and the sound of silence. No more guns or screams, people were out and about in the streets, singing, and dancing, playing the ball and guitar, as everyone marched to Joanna's beat. Except Andre, who was seen boarding the submarine although the AI alerted him that Oxygen levels weren't enough. Andre, lost and defeated, knew there was no redemption from him.

Earlier he would hallucinate about the founding couples pacifying him with claims of how proud they were. This time, as he sails to a destroyed Offshore in ruins, he sees Michele cradling him as the depleting Oxygen inches him closer to unconsciousness. He breaks down into sobs and accepts his imminent death knowing he would be killed if he were to surrender to the Inland peacefully. Perhaps in Michele's rule, he would have been granted Marcela's (Laila Garin) fate and held prisoner, but this was Joanna's rule as our new heroine has seen enough to trust him again most likely. So Andre chose to die for the Offshore – the dream that cost him his own sister – than dying at the hands of the 97% he kept condemning.

'3%' Season 4 is now airing only on Netflix.
