In the first episode, Jin Cheng (Jess Hong) is seen conversing with her friend Augustina "Auggie" Salazar (Eiza González) in a bar.

The Oxford classmates and best friends are seemingly discussing the bizarre outcomes produced by all the big accelerators, which makes no sense.

Jin is deeply engaged in their discourse until she learns of the death of their former professor Vera Ye (Vedette Lim).

To add to her fears, she realizes that Auggie is seeing a strange countdown that is only visible to her.

Jin visits Vera's house the next day to express her condolences to her mother, Ye Wenjie (Rosalind Chao).

She begins to query Vera's conduct prior to her death, to which her mother responds that she observed nothing unusual but pointed out that she spent hours playing video games. She then passed her a silver headset used for the game.

Jin is intrigued by the weird headset and puts it on, only to find herself in a virtual world wearing Shang-period clothing.

As she was attempting to understand the situation, two words appeared: Level One, and she saw a pyramid tower in the distance, behind which the sun rose quickly into the sky, blasting the heat waves.

Jin, terrified, takes a step back and discovers her foot on a buried skeleton, which terrifies her and brings her back to reality.

'3 Body Problem' is now streaming on Netflix
