The 2020 Kentucky Derby is all set to come back on September 5, 2020. Originally, the race was supposed to take place on the first Saturday of May but was rescheduled due to the Covid-19 pandemic in the United States of America.

Only three horses from the Belmont Stakes are scheduled to run in the Kentucky Derby, with third-place finisher Max Player and sixth-place finisher Sole Volante joining Tiz the Law. Whereas less than 20 horses will be entering the Churchill Downs starting gate.

Woodford Reserve will be presenting the 146th Kentucky Derby. The show will be hosted by Mike Tirico, the Hall of Fame jockey Jerry Bailey and sports commentator Randy Moss. The race will be called by Larry Collmus. According to a Forbes report, the 2019 Kentucky Derby set a wagering record with $165.5 million bets on the race with much of that at legal online betting platforms like TVG, a horse racing network.
