Here's why Zak Bagans plans to return Paul Walker's crash site sunglasses to the family
The sunglasses worn by Paul Walker at the time of his horrific death in November 2013 are changing hands, this time they might get returned to the late actor's family. The 'Fast and Furious' actor died alongside his friend Roger Rodas on November 30, when the car they were traveling in lost control and crashed in California.
Shortly after the crash, an unidentified seller sought bids on Maui Jim eyewear worn by the late actor along with several pieces of debris from the scene of the accident. The seller claimed that he tried getting in touch with the late actor's family to return the sunglasses but he never heard back. The seller, then put them for auction in 2014 for $15,000 which caused a lot of outrage and the sunglasses never got sold. Earlier this year, the owner of the auction reached out to Zak Bagans, who purchased the pair from him.

Now, the 'Ghost Adventures' star in an interview with TMZ, revealed that he would like to return the shades, worn by Paul at the time of the crash to his family for free. Zak added that he doesn't feel comfortable displaying them at his Haunted Museum in Las Vegas, which exhibits artifacts related to dead celebs. Zak, who is also a paranormal investigator, further told the outlet, if Paul's family doesn't want the sunglasses, he would seek the family's permission to display them in a new memorial exhibit at his museum. Zak's museum includes a piece of James Dean death car, Sharon Tate's wedding dress and a Patrick Swayze tooth.
According to the auction listing on BidAMI.com, the unidentified seller says police ordered him away from the scene but he returned to look when the wreckage was cleared and found the sunglasses in the bushes. The listing states: "The owner of this lot offering was nearby and on scene for information and assistance with officers and reporters."
"Once the site investigation was cleared with car debris hauled away and tape taken down, a responding officer allowed him as well as others back to the public site. The only thing left was a charred ivy brush, minor residual debris, a knocked down pole and tree. As the consigner walked the scene in disbelief and grief, he found a pair of sunglasses nearby in the ivy."
The listing further states, "After showing one of the officers, he was waved off. The glasses were dirty so he wrapped them in a handkerchief and put them in his pocket. He also found some residual debris nearby which he kept in memorandum." Paul was pictured wearing the sunglasses at an event for his charity 'Reach Out Worldwide' shortly before his death aged 40. The star died shortly after he left the event while traveling in a red Porsche Carrera GT Rodas at a speed of at least 100mph.
