Spoilers for ‘Your Honor’ Episode 5 ‘Part Five’

“Some mistakes... Just have greater consequences than others.” But when it comes to Adam Desiato (Hunter Doohan) in Showtime's ‘Your Honor’, every single error seems to pave the path of doom and destruction. After killing a man — knowingly or unknowingly — the young boy seems to have left the burden of the crime on his father's shoulders and doesn't seem bothered at all.

If at all he is bothered, it is to ruin every single attempt made by his dad, Michael Desiato (Bryan Cranston) with his silly mistakes. From dropping the inhaler to slipping off detective Nancy Costello's (Amy Landecker) name in front of his grandmother, Elizabeth (Margo Martindale), he is on a rampage. In the fifth episode ‘Part Five’, he does something completely incomprehensible and it will leave you stunned.

At a cafe, Adam gets a call from his dad but he ignores it and waits for Fia Baxter (Lilli Kay). The two first crossed paths at Rocco Baxter's (Benjamin Wadsworth) funeral and they meet again... The conversation that follows will leave you at a loss for words.

“Hey. I know you, right. Uh, uh, Rocco's memorial. I am his sister,” Fia introduces herself. The two talk about his upcoming interview and Adam suddenly asks, “What was he like? Your brother?” Caught off-guard, Fia says, “An idiot. Fun.” Adam instinctively responds, “I just met him once actually,” and when asked where was that, he lies, “Tipitina's [A club at New Orleans]... That club.”

Fia then remarks, “He was wearing my T-shirt. He died instantly. Head injury. I wonder if that is true. They say he choked on his own blood. Do you think they tell you the truth?” Trying to console her perhaps, Adam slips in another crucial detail from his life. “My mom, she was murdered. I think about her last moment all the time. What it was like to go for her.”

Changing the topic, she asks, “Is NYU your first choice?” In a mock rehearsal for the interview, she plays Professor Big Brain and asks him questions. After hearing him, she jokes, “We love nerds without social skills.” Then she asks, “Other than the death of your mother, tell me about an experience that had a huge impact on you,” Flirting with her, Adam teases, “I met a really cool girl. She's good at fishing.”

It's sad that Adam's father, Michael, is crossing all limits to save him from being convicted and he is not leaving any stone unturned to quash all his attempts — knowingly or unknowingly. Now, that T-shirt twist and that big fat lie will land him into huge trouble and many Reddit fans are convinced it might be the last straw that gets him behind bars. Or could the two fall in love and she'd help save him?

“The T-shirt reference and accompanying lie are somehow a new low. Adam, you f**king moron,” one said and another posted, “I’m surprised the sister didn’t call him out right there or seem alarmed. Adam said he met her brother at that venue on her shirt he had on when he died but maybe he never actually went there because it’s her shirt?”

A third wrote, “Even if you didn’t kill her brother, it’s not the best idea trying to go out with the daughter of a Mob boss who is obviously distraught and in a war!” Has Adam invited huge trouble and what will be the cost of those errors?

Written by Dewayne Darian Jones and directed by Clark Johnson, the fifth episode aka ‘Part Five’ was made available early for streaming and on-demand from Thursday, December 31, ahead of its linear premiere on Sunday, January 3, 2021, on Showtime Channel. You can catch the show on Showtime’s official website, SHO OnDemand and on the Showtime App.
