'Wynonna Earp' Season 4: What to expect for Wynonna, the WayHaught wedding and more when show returns

The first half of Season 4 has dealt with some major enemies, but there's still a lot to look forward to when the show returns

The Earp Curse has been broken, Waverly Earp (Dominique Provost-Chalkley) has been rescued from Eden and even the Clanton clan has been handily dealt with, but Season 4 is far from over. The good news is, 'Wynonna Earp' will definitely be returning with more episodes. The bad news? We'll have to wait until some time in 2021. In the meanwhile, we take a look at some of the major unresolved plot threads and what we can expect from them when the series returns.

First and foremost, we can almost certainly expect a wedding between Waverly and Nicole Haught (Katherine Barrell). After a proposal that we've all waited years for Nicole to accept, the two have announced their engagement to their strange, demon-killing family. Given how hard it was to bring back a Season 4, there's no guarantee that a Season 5 is on the table and the producers of the show are unlikely to disappoint their fans by leaving a wedding for a season that may never come. There's a WayHaught wedding in the works, one that's hopefully not as bad as Nicole dreamed it would be last episode.

In the meantime, Wynonna Earp (Melanie Scrofano) and Doc Holliday (Tim Rozon) are growing farther and farther away from each other. Doc has been making the most of his post-Earp Curse life and has been trying to make amends for the reckless hothead he used to be. He had plans of keeping the peace, however, when Wynonna shot Sheriff Holt (Ty Olsson), those plans for peace were ruined and that is something they have not yet resolved. While Doc is aiming for the light, Wynonna is on a much darker path, embracing the life of a killer as she doesn't know who she is without Peacemaker by her side. She's growing colder, more ruthless and more dangerous and if the teaser trailer for Part 2 of Season 4 is any indication, a lot creepier.

Though the Clantons have been dealt with and the Earp Curse undone, there is still no shortage of enemies for Wynonna. The Clantons have not been eliminated entirely - everyone seems to have forgotten Cleo Clanton (Savannah Basley), who is now free of her family's more restrictive influences and has more reason than ever to want to see harm come to the Earps. Another villain who has not been dealt with that the Earps seem to have forgotten about is Eve, who is still intent on destroying the world as we know it and remains missing. The teaser trailer has also shown a new pumpkin-headed scarecrow villain and it's worth remembering that Purgatory is still home to enough demons to keep even Wynonna's bloodlust sated.

There are always going to be enemies - the question is, will Wynonna's fight against them ever come to an end?

'Wynonna Earp' Season 4 will return in 2021.
