While newer generation fans went through heartbreak post-2019 as members of several boy groups had to leave, no one can quite beat the tragic story of TVXQ and JYJ. Second-gen boy group TVXQ debuted in 2003 under SM Entertainment and would quickly become of the leading K-pop groups of their time. Their hit single ‘Mirotic’ is a classic that is still covered by artists to this date. But what non-fans do not know is that members that tried to leave the group were blacklisted by the industry. But it looks like former member Junsu does not hold grudges as he sent his support to Changmin and Yunho.

Jaejoong and Junsu re-debuted with another former member Yoochun as JYJ and broke their TVXQ contract with SM in 2010. While their music did well on the charts, they were not allowed to promote or distribute their albums due to SM’s influence. In 2015 a bill was passed now known as the JYJ law that would not allow broadcast stations to pick and choose celebrities without a justifiable reason. But JYJ could not reap the benefits as they went on hiatus for their mandatory military service. However, TVXQ fans are now hopeful of a full group reunion as we first got JYJ together for the first time in seven years.

Junsu mentions TVXQ

On March 30, JYJ’s Junsu and Jaejoong reunited to release an OST for the J-drama ‘Bad Woman’. They finally performed on a music show, 11 years after they were blacklisted. And now Junsu sang a TVXQ song while talking about Changmin and Yunho, the only two remaining members of the K-pop group. Soloist Junsu recently held his Japanese concert and sang ‘Asu wa Kuru Kara’. It is a well-known OST of the hit anime ‘One Piece’ that was recorded by all original TVXQ members in 2006 for their debut Japanese album.

Fans noticed that Junsu was hesitant about singing it and wondered if he had forgotten the song or was reminiscing about his time in TVXQ. After singing, he said, “Ah it's been such a long time (I missed it). Ah especially that last song [‘Asu wa Kuru Kara’]. It's a song from the TVXQ days, so when I'm singing it, I feel quite a lot of complex feelings, and a lot of different memories and thoughts. Are there people who were fans of TVXQ here...? Thank you..For all this long time..I've been working really hard.. I seriously was able to make with a lot of enjoyable memories. Me too, thank you for liking me. And Yunho and Changmin too, yes, everyone please keep supporting them.”

Knetizens were impressed that Junsu spoke positively about his former members despite a messy split with their label. One commented, “He's seriously being the bigger person hereㅠ The fans have been chasing after this moment in anguish for the past 13 years....” One wrote, “Oof Kim Junsu is freaking cool, You can tell he grew out of it.” Another hoped, “Aside from Park Yoochun, if those 4 reunite again, they'll be so cool.”

Fans were touched as they made tweets like, “YOOO I LOVE THIS🥺🤧 I’m really going to cry tomorrow if he sings more TVXQ songs…I gotta bring some tissues.” Another fan wished, “I f**king swear when they reunite, it’s going to happen in Japan.” One added, “Crying in the club rn.” Another made a reaction meme, “IN 2022????
